Is that the Cold Steel one?  If so what's the quality like?

That is the Cold Steel one.

I find it's a pretty good knife for the money and it takes a good edge (even with my cacky sharpening skills), but it's no Grohmann.

I know you wasn't asking me but I thought I'd chime in anyway.  :D
I'm back!!

It's a good value for the price, but it is in no way the equivalent of a Grohmann #1...it just looks like one. I'm not sure how much tang there is in the handle, but I suspect it is just a stub tang judging by its lightness. The steel actually takes and holds a good edge.

not that anyone gives a flyin poo, heres one fresh outta my own oven ::) ;) :

self forged from 1095, 1/8" thick, about 8,5 inches total length, fully handmade handles too..some type of poor mans micarta i think it is.the sheath aint much either, its as coarse as the knife itself but hey, theyre for acual use,and im happy the way those came out.

i also made blade for another knife:

and few of these, one is about to have home in USA,at one members possession:

and i also made few bits n pieces for my other projects:

Thank you sir :police:.

its been made-although its raw intentionally-well,to all traditional forging, annealing etc rules, written and unwritten ones.cuts really nicely, leather, cardboard, flesh and wood, and takes some serious beating without any chipping or stuff like that.i left the ridge(the back o rwhat ever u call the non.sharpened uppe rpart of the blade, sharp edged to serve as firesteel scraper.im very happy to say i made it and it is pretty good,it has to be as many guys from our school, try to buy it,and quite a few blacksmiths said its good piece of kit, nonetheless thay also are old-school-puukko guys,so the shape of it is disgustin to their eyes but caus eit works well and is made to my eyes only,it sure aint problem :D.
one mt.org member is havin one similar, shorter but similar,as i get it done during next month.the sheath is quickly made, sandwhich type, with brass rivets that were too long but after hammering them heavily,it is now rugged and wont break in pieces.it has also loop for firesteel, and i painted it with leather-dye,pitchblack.the handle is nice and has good grip,no matter the raw looks.it gets smoother after some times use i think 8).

You actually should list them on Buckskinning boards. We average about 10 strikers each.

In order to maintain air-speed velocity, a budgie needs to beat its wings forty-three times every second, right?
