Picked up a SOG Fusion Fixation Bowie earlier this week.  Haven't used it yet but I got it for an upcoming camping trip.

Oh definitely.  I picked it up at LeBaron for $36 CAD (about $30 USD) which was a good deal.  It's the best price I've found so far.  I love the look of the blade and it's so comfortable to hold.  :tu:  I'm not too impressed by the sheath and will probably get a more premium quality sheath for it later.

Yeah, I saw his review a couple of months ago.  At first, I really liked the look of this knife but wasn't sure about getting one.  Later on, nutnfancy's review plus the low price made me want one even more.   :D

Only have 3 fixed blades as I don't go for them much - prefer folders.

The only pic I have of my Benchmade Gamer (middle)

Out the three I only have really used the Gamer to any extent around the garden. The JUJU is generally thought of as a 'fighting knife' I think, though the chisel grind is good for steaks. The bowie is still in the box unused.

Benner, are you suggesting I have more than a passing interest in Benchmade's?  :D

And now for something completely different :)   In fact I'm not sure this is the right thread, so mods please do feel free to shift this post if you think it'd fit better somewhere else :tu:

A few months ago my wife found an old knife under her father's shed that had belonged to his father. Knowing what I'm like she brought it home for me..

Some TLC has since been administered..

I've been careful to keep it as a faithful restoration.  As my grandfather inlaw went by the name of Jack I shall pass this knife to my Jack when he's a bit older.  He'll probably never use it but its a nice link to his past for him.

I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

That was my guess as well.  Speaking with my father inlaw he believes he remembers seeing his father using it on shoes.

First peek at one of the CKC Hikers I've been working on...still oiling the wood and I haven't figured out the sheath yet.

Scales are Yew with matching firesteel and diamond hone.
