I heard that as well.  :2tu: Unfortunately, none of the Judges survived the tasting to award the prize... Too bad Nix, too bad...  :dunno:

A malicious counter-rumor spread by my competitors. In fact, I can't keep the judges out of the fridge........

(and they are starting to smell a bit 'off', so perhaps I should store them in the freezer.....)

Day 11:

This one is for you, Pomsie:

(Image removed from quote.)

Making a little 'Montana Sushi' for lunch: turkey and friggitello (pepperoncini) wrapped around hummus with za'atar. The Sodbuster's blade makes a good spreading tool.  :tu:

Little known fact: I make the best hummus in the world. While the Guinness book of world records has not officially recognized this accomplishment and wonder, a solid rumor (that I just started) has it that they are considering making a special award for my hummus.

Americans are crazy about iced tea. We drink it all year, but in the summer we must consume oceans of the stuff. Anybody else in the big wide world like iced tea?
Oh that would be me! I have been a tea drinker since we were stationed in England some 60 years ago. That is why I don’t drink coffee. It’s either tea or diet Dr. Pepper now!
As far as the hummus, when can we expect it on the grocery store

Prepping dinner for tonight. The Buck is a great tool. For this challenge I removed the pocket clip and thumb stud I had installed.  I miss them!

Day: 11 (bonus material)

Tomato plants are growing and starting to bear fruit....or is it berries..?

Anyway, added a few more supports using a bit of jute twine. Sodbuster used to clip lengths of jute for the task.

comis got me thinking with one of his posts from a few days ago, prompting a question in turn.

I've never been good at remembering the names of the many patterns of traditional knives. Some, like 'Barlow' are easy to remember, but I frequently misuse them. Others, like 'Trapper' or 'Stockman' are easy to recall because they are patterns I've had for such a long time and used a good bit. Not that I always use those names correctly, either......

Now, to my question: in the picture below are two Jack knives (I think I got that right.....). The bottom knife is called a 'Bull Moose' (thanks for the reminder, comis.). What is the upper pattern called?  Just a 'Moose'?  Just a 'Bull'?

Oh wow, those are nice!

Thanks, Ray.

The Tidioute is a bit heftier and has some strong back springs. Not nail-breakers, but strong.
The Northfield is slimmer, lighter, and has softer springs. Quite soft.

The Big Moose is an equal end pattern. While the Bull Moose is a serpentine or texas jack pattern.    :)
