Day 17

GEC48 trapper with a Fiction folder Svord...I don't why but I always prefer my (modern) folders in the range of 4 inch+, but am totally fine with regular 91mm SAK at 3.5inch, but for traditional, I still think the 3.5-4in could be the sweet spot.  I think maybe that has something to do Traditionals usually come with smaller pivots and straighter handles?

(Image removed from quote.)

Nice Trapper !  and I agree on the length of trads. My favorite being the 3 5/8 equal end Pattern  :tu:

:D That's one if the most beautiful Barlow's I think I've ever seen!  I don't know how I missed that one, since I get the Case emails.

Matt, I really, really like it.  Case has nailed this one!  The bolsters are big, like they are supposed to be. And strong, not decorations, like they are supposed to be.   :woohoo:

The Fit and finish on mine is quite good. I've already put a few scratches on it from carrying it about in my pockets today. A minor gripe is that there is a touch of recurve in both blades. This is minor and won't be an issue whatsoever.

I terms of size, it is about the size of an 84mm Vic/Wenger. The main blade is a tad shorter than the main blade on my Evo 14. It is heavy for size (which feels good to me) and conveys a sense of solidity. It feels like a real working knife.  :tu:

I doubt I'll be the only one enjoying these gems. Convenient, solid, and practical. Everyone needs one, especially Barry.   >:D  :pok:

Superb work!!
Day 16 bonus shot

Here's my entry for the ICC #3, the whittlin' challenge.  I think you can tell where I was going with this, it's supposed to be a wizard.  Whittling is not as easy as pitcarver makes it look, my hands were cramping up something fierce!

Vintage Fuzz Day 17 - Fuzzy Lunch

The #42 beautifully sliced up some pork yesterday and I'll be using again to cut up some more later. However, it was absolutely píss poor today at cutting up some cheddar cheese - it must be something to do with the blade geometry I guess, but I just felt a noticeable amount of resistance.

The cheese, by the way, was for my latest gastronomic phenomenon - cheddar, chorizo and piccalilli sandwiches! They sound absolutely disgusting, but are in fact quite delicious... it's all down to the mayonnaise you see - it blends and binds it all together.  :2tu:

I am... a genius.

Is there any chance you are confusing 'knife-wielding madman' with 'genius'?

How does the cheese cut with a regular paring kitchen knife? Perhaps it's just the texture being so draggy that any knife would struggle regardless of how slicey it is.

These were my thoughts, too.  :iagree:  Cheese tends to 'cling' to a blade. The best tool for slicing cheese is a thin piece of wire.  :tu:

And...can Fuzzy even sharpen a knife?

I'm constantly surprised by the number of people who don't like mayo. Doesn't even seem possible to me.....

You might try making your own mayonnaise: one egg yolk, light olive oil, juice of a lemon, pinch salt, pinch cayenne pepper or paprika. Blitz. (best to blitz egg and oil first, then add lemon juice and stuff.) Brilliant stuff--you'll be converted. For a more daring mayo, throw in a half a garlic clove and half a cured anchovy. Oooooh, la-la!
