Thats a nice set up! Did it come with the rod for fire starting or you have to provide one?  :like:

I think Bark River does have the option for people to purchase the ferro rod from them, so it could match the handle.

But the moisture from the sheath leather might corrode the ferro rod if kept in the loop for too long, unless you check on them frequently(which could be a chore if you have multiple knife sheaths with ferro rods), so I decide to carry a rod of my own instead of buying them from Bark River/knife makers.

I'm not sure about the wood.....seems like hard Maple. Whatever it is, it is beautiful.  ;)
Gorgeous knife

Day28

Bark River Bravo1 LT

Got this knife just when 3V was gaining popularity for fixed blade couple years ago, and finally a thinner stock of Bravo 1 is offered in this LT format which suited me better.  Overall it's a nice knife, came highly polished(I think they wheel puffed everything including the handle), the balance of knife is somewhere between the index and middle finger, it is acceptable but I do wish they would have skeletonized the handle or give the blade an extra 1/4 in to balance it out.  Extremely aggresive jimping which is a little annoying when doing a chest cut.

The sheath quality is good, but slightly annoying to fiddle the strap out of the way everytime when you put the knife back into the sheath.  I put on ample amount of Obenauf's to soften the leather, so it may appear a little darker than it's normal state, but usually the leather return to its original color after 1 week of time.

How did that go though? :pok: :D

Without any issues. Not the first time so it was all good

I am so jealous of all the great knives I've seen in this thread. Most are way out of my price range so I won't get one for myself but I appreciate getting to see them being used by my friends here on MTO.

He's really moving up quickly now. Send him congratulations from me and tell him to get back to posting more rigging knife pictures when he can.

Day: 28

The snow has arrived slightly ahead of schedule. I don't know how much use a knife will see today, but I've got one on my belt: a used and abused Fiddleback (I'm not sure of the model name):

Day 28

A beautiful early Fall Day
Not here, it's HOT.  About 95F.  My neck is sweating and I hate when my neck is sweating.  It must still be summer.
I wish I had just some of Nix's snow so I could take off my shirt and roll around in it.

Jack you can keep the snow, I’d be happy if I didn’t see any this year.
