Going through and updating my photographs in my document file I came across a file I had titled,"Unusual knives" that featured knives that had no specific categories or were unique in either construction or appearance. So here are a bunch of them.It will take some time to upload and describe them so please be patient.
#1 is a multi-use fixed blade made by Harrison Brothers & Howson.
#2 is a floating fish knife with cork handle that folds and is made by Teja & Rosa in Italy.
#3 is a double blade double edged knife that is used to clean fish and can be dis-assembled to clean.
#4 is a knife for grooming horses(the mane)and cleaning their hooves.

#4 is a group of so-called,"coin knives" that were patterned after the ones made by Eloi Pernet of France who would take an old French coin, slice it in two, install blades and then put it back together.

I thought of those from my lot.

CRKT (designed for fishing)
Martins (tiny, has blade, bottle opener and cute fork - poor man's LM Flair)
GEC (useless saw)

Dug out some more oddballs:
#1&2 A knife that is concealed inside a small aluminum bat;presumably for stunning fish into submission.I think this would probably fall under the concealed weapons statute in many states.
#3 & 4 Another,"concealed weapon"(?) posing as a filter tipped cigarette.

Several knives reposing on belt buckles and bolo ties. Unfortunately they are non functional even though they are sharp they are not able to be easily removed from their bases.

A couple more. The first is a store display for a Kershaw assisted opening knife that mounts to a display and is fastened to it with an armored cable. This is somewhat ridiculous as the display isn't fastened to anything and even if it were it would be a simple matter to snap the fragile plastic it is made of.To add insult to injury(or to prevent it)there is no edge put on the knife blade. Can't trust people with a sharp knife ya know!
The second one I would probably hesitate to use.Not sure when it was conceived(probably late 1940's to early 1950's)but it is a folding sickle that contains used double edged razor blades for a cutting edge. The blade guard folds into the handle and acts as a locking device when it is open.Yet another use for razor blades that are unsuitable for shaving anymore.

And lastly we have a rather unique folding fish knife/gaff. The large handles are made of cork to allow it to float if accidentally dropped overboard. There is a gaff built in to the top of the blade. To operate it,the handles are pulled slightly apart allowing them to swivel and carrying the blade to the open position.Once fully opened it locks into position via a small detent. To close;reveres the procedure.

A local military surplus and police supply store had one of those Kershaws on a counter as recently as last year when they closed. Never asked about it, as the assist spring was broken; and I don't know if Kershaw would even cover a display model.

That lawn sickle--looks dangerous!

I saw one like #3 sold on eBay recently, but it had orange handles and was apparently an SFO for LL Bean. Seemed gimmicky, but I'm a little curious about how well it would work.

I saw it as well;actually the seller had two different models. As I recall they sold fairly cheap;under $30.I think they are more a gimmick than anything else.

My dad had a Puuko that had that same finial. The one in your picture looks like the finial is after market.

Have you ever cut a real spread of grass with a sythe? It is much easier and very satisfying to do. Sharpen with a hammer.

Not sure which knife you are referring to;don't think I posted any pictures of a puuko.
