Great start this morning.  I'm starting to think I might need one of the Klein trip savers and a hammerhead.

Day 21

I really like the file.

I don't use wire stripping notches, but these work well. And the hole is useful for forming a hook:
(Image removed from quote.)

The chisel ground end can be used for scraping. Here, I used it to scrape the galvanized coating of this junction box cover:

The file is 2 sided, with aggressiveky cut surfacea. Here, I was able to quickly file down the edge of a piece of rebar:

It looks like Klein packed a lot of utility into that one tool.

DAY 20

Got pinged yesterday evening (just bluetooth, not named, for those in the UK)

The OHT helped open the PCR home test kit  ::)

Stay safe awl... :ahhh :tu:
Hope all is fine!

Day 20  2/3 of the way through the challenge.  :woohoo:
Leo doesn't like challenges.  I keep waking him up to take pictures with tools.
At least he is cooperative enough to pose for the pix, I knew a few cats probably put scratches on me if I attempt to do the same.

The CPK do look nice.  I’ve been really eyeing a couple BR and also an LT Wright.  I just got an email saying that the BR Mountaineer II is on sale and that might just get me to stop looking.

As far as mediocre scissors, I have notice that seeming to be a norm rather than exception.  I think SAKs scissors are just so good at multiple materials that it sets the standard high.
The Mountaineer II caught my eyes too, and I used to love guardless design(such as Mora) where I could choke my hand up all the way the blade for power cuts.  But considering not all my chores are wood related, sometimes it's just nice to have a small guard to prevent any careless mistakes and I think a lightweight knife 3-4 in knives could come in really handy for all the general tasks.

:tu:
I was wondering about this myself, was thinking what would be the tool of 2021, the Bond maybe

  :dunno:
I’d love to see an MTO or Swiss Army Knights SAK.   Maybe even an Alox?!
I think the idea of 'forum' knife is pretty cool, but I guess the difficult task is to generate enough interest for the economics to work.  But getting a batch of tools/knives and finding third-party service to etch or laser engrave them maybe a viable story.

thanks guys  :tu:

day 20

20210820_110346 by Humayd a r Mahomedy, on Flickr
a friend brought a multimeter and we needed to install the battery,Phillips to the rescue

20210820_110524 by Humayd a r Mahomedy, on Flickr
i used the medium flat driver to pry the battery cover open

the included battery did not inspire confidence  ::)

Is that a Fluke? :pok:   Love their stuff.

Nice uses!  I think more often than not, many major brands stay well within their comfort zones and keep on making what they know best, but once in awhile, we will see creative tools coming from off-brands and kinda pushes the envelope a little bit.  It's good to see it is the case here. :tu:

Day 21. I had a lot of stuff to get done, so I took this photo before I headed out. Mostly used the chainsaw and hedge trimmer. Used a knife only a handful of times, and that was my Cold Steel Voyager L work knife.

Day 22

Tender as a Hammerhead :D

The head’s probably a bit small but definitely worked…was going to use it to clean under the mower after doing the lawn this morning, probably just as well I didn’t. HH was given a thorough clean before and after :tu:

Day 22 Pt2

No scissors on the HH so the trusty Climber needed, must admit to missing SAKs during the challenge, although always have a Rambler in my pocket

Patched up some fly screens on the front door, seems to have worked well enough but poorly designed product.

It comes in 3 layers, the fly screen itself, an adhesive layer and backing. Every time I tried to peel off the backing the fly screen came away without the adhesive. Easily solved by having a section of backing without adhesive and screen, took forever  :ahhh
