Does it have a hook?
I'd look for a hook, but I can't get the Giant out of his favorite bar and grille.
Rest in peace ColoSwiss, you will always be remembered.

Nice work!

The fish scaler is also perfect when you eat fries.

But I suppose you have to sharpen it for that, right?

Time for a new badge: It hangs without a hook.

Nope, it works right out of the box.

Cool, I will have to try that. I assumed the fish scaler was to too thick and too dull to pierce fries, but admittedly I never tried it out.

While talking about the hook and scaler, the covid edc tool was somewhat popular last year, and I always think it's just an imitation for the backside hook or the fish scaler on SAK. :D

Day 6

Had to make a patch cable and wanted to see how the electrician blade worked out with the extra layers of the XLT

Normally I like using a two or three layer SAK for this because I can gently close the large blade on the cable and strip the jacket off by rotating the tool which works great

I was pleasantly surprised with the electricians blade because the groove was perfect for the cable but the only thing I observed is that it works a lot better if I opened the bit driver and magnifying glass layers in order for the cable to lay flat on the tool making it much easier to rotate the tool

Good use!   Your post peak my curiosity and I brought out my XLT to play--

My Electrician blade is sandwiched between the scissors and spatula, and the bit driver only after the spatula.  And mag glass layer is all the way out next to the openers.

I am curious do our tools have different orientation of layers?  And does this happen randomly or done on purpose?  I am sure most tools/chassis I have seen always have the same orientation due to nail nicks and ease of use.

Interesting and good to know. Did those extensions affect the handling negatively?

As far as I know there are the same layers on every XLT out there.

It’s funny that you say that because mine has the exact same config as yours in line with ulzhan said but you are correct the only reason I put the wire in the direction of the driver and magnifier is because in my experience with using cat 5 laying the wire on the pliers made it a bit more level and I used the bit driver to hold it in place, I’ll post a pic showing how I do it

But I do have the newer magnifying glass on mine which sticks up more than the old one which is why I lift that layer out ( only going by your picture I don’t have the old magnifier myself to determine that for sure)

Interesting and good to know. Did those extensions affect the handling negatively?

Thank you Simon! They just make the cable sit less flush that’s why I open them up I’ll try to post a better picture in attempt to show how I try to do it
