Day 33

Cut cheese for midmorning snack. Green swisschamp filled in for the red on cheese. Red awl was used as a goose finisher this morning and was still a bit dirty. Awl worked great for that task.

Another good morning in the goose field. 5 geese (our daily limit) by 8:00am.

Good source of iron  :tu:

No, it's heavy metal. Not healthy.

If you wait too long you'll get an XAVT.  8)

 :tu: It's been over 30 years ago, but my Huntsman corkscrew saw regular use doing that same thing.  Love those scales buddy!

Day 34: Using the Swisschamp to do some maintenance on an old Singer sewing machine. The first picture shows the package containing the belt, a piece of leather cord.  The second is the belt itself.  Last I'm using the pliers to hold the belt to hammer in a hole for the staple that holds the belt together. Tension is adjusted by shortening the belt.  All of this can be done with the treadle pliers I showed earlier in the challenge, but it's not nearly as fun as using the Swisschamp!

Day 34 of 60:

Swiss Champ played a key role in making a new utility pouch to day.

The fabric is "upcycled" from an old gas-grill cover. Scissors, of course, but the awl helped with the layout of the snaps as well.

Ready for the trail.....

Preparing some bread.

That hawkbill blade is the most used blade on the XLT. Very handy if you are to open some plastic.
