Day 10:

Really tired today. Wonder Puppy has been draining the batteries.......

Still, she is doing really well and, for at least 15 minutes per day, is a lot of fun.  :tu:

Dicing up a few treats for Wonder Pup, locally made "snack sticks", a bit spicy, but Wonder Pup love's 'em.

Wonder Puppy? I like that  :D
Great she's getting better  :tu:

@ Comis - love the lantern, and the Halloween costume son has selected, both my sons are Profession Fireman!    And you bolsters will always polish up nicely, patina  of the scales and scratches to bolsters and blade steel will be the endearing measure of work your Ranger has served👍
kudos to them for the noble career choices! :hatsoff:   Every now and then I do polish up the 112 or 110 bolster, just to see what kind of new patina they would pick up, it's almost like a form of journaling.

Day 10 of 30

I returned Blue to the drawer, volunteered Orange for duty today.  You will notice that this early version of the Buck Orange is pale when you compare to the later models.

I think David has an earlier version like this, and I actually prefer this than the newer more vibrant version. :tu:

It must not be easy, but I am sure it is absolutely rewarding too.

 That's fair. However, next Friday I have to cook 10 pork butts, 4 racks of ribs and 25 lbs. of smoked sausage. Gonna need a bbuunncchh of twigs.
That's a mighty feast!  Pictures, please!

My bad,,, her Mom was in front seat

It's for a comp/festival.
I was going to say, if I were you, I would negotiate a deal with daughter at all cost to not tell mom...well, errr, too late.  :D

112 did more unboxing duty.  Anyone watches the new Rings of Power?  Any LOTR fan here?

I am, and just watched episode 3 last night.
You do not need to know any of the previous LOTR movies or stories for this as it is the beginning.
IMHO, I do believe the story is doing an excellent job laying the foundation for the characters and a story plot.
After this I will need to rewatch the other sagas in order to appreciate the entire tale.

The scenery in all were in some scenes so breathtaking, I missed the dialog. New Zealand  is amazing!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Day 11 of 30

9/11  :salute:  In Memory of the tragic that occurred this date!  The Memorials erected to mark this date.  We will not FORGET! :salute:

Today is quiet, very wet and cooler in my area.
I selected my Blue Wood Ranger, with drop point for my carry.  No action yet.

Comparison to two other drop points on the table. A 501 that is my letter/package opener and a 444 found on a auction site that I thought would larger.

Day 11
A solemn Patriot's Day to all. :'(

I found myself in the truck waiting in on street parking at 08:46 this morning.  I observed a moment of silence, then listened to some Stevie Ray Vaughn in the CD player.  I'm good.  :'(

Ranger Challenge II
Day 11

Opened a package today that I purchased for next month's fixed blade challenge. I've needed one for the Western for quite some time. It was marked down from $10 to $6.50,,,,can't argue with that. I will likely leave it in its natural color and just wax it.

Funny, I made the same mistake years ago. I loved the size, however and carried it a lot until I got a 501. I think the 444 is a lightweight Squire.

Guessing because of the gray handle, it's a Work-Man issue?

My local cutlery store almost always never has the right sheath for that size; so I find myself going to Hobby Lobby and getting one of those instead--I have two. They work pretty well. I riveted one and stitched the other--the stitched one is starting to fall apart, so I think I need to practice my stitching more.

Yes, light as a feather, a prototype to the LT models is a possibility.

Day 11

A somber day today, and a light one for the orange Slim Ranger. Breaking down a box for disposal was the extent of its use.
