Nice stuff from awl!

Day 18

This is the other Imperial toothpick I got from Cody. The tang stamp, plus the patent numbers on the pile side of the tang, date this one between 1939 and 1952. It may get new covers eventually, but it has terrific snap.

Day 18

I carried Frost's "Uncle Lucky" stockman today.  For some reason Frost can manage to put together a decent traditional pattern knife even if their modern, plastic framed knives tend to be highly disappointing.  Let that serve as a warning to any insomniacs who find themselves watching those late night knife dealer infomercials.

Thanks guys!!

Many beautiful knives today! :tu:

LC , I lost about 500 knives in the fire and 99.9 % of what I post are all post 2006. Many of the newer GEC's, S&M's and other Queen made knives being bought directly because of being in Dean's yearly tributes.  :hatsoff:

Day 18
One of my favorites, an AG Russell Granddad Barlow made in the 70's or 80's ( I think) by Camillus. It's Camillus marked on the blade's reverse. I love it because it's sort of a "Three in One Barlow".  :D

Day 17
Forgot to post.  The Cripple Creek Jack cut open a package of Fisher’s special Sunday food, as well as a popsicle for me.

Day 18
Switched it up to a GEC Jack, which cut open some Crab cakes

Day 19 -

Oiled up joint and applied my steel to the edge of the Bareheaded Trapper that was opened last Saturday.  It will be assigned pocket duty today along with the Tribal (blue) Lock.

Curious, would the Tribal be considered a Bare Headed model as well?  :dunno:

Day 19 +

Earlier to day was doing some cleaning, oiling and inspecting of pretty sharp thingies, and took some pictures of my trappers…

And compared my first Trapper, (‘61) to my latest, the DLT exclusive Wharncliff.

Interesting open nail nicks on that.  Is that from factory or a modification?

I'm not the biggest expert here, but with bolsters at only one end, yes I'd call the Tribal a bare head.

Today's pic is the other Imperial that belonged to my grandfather, and the tang stamp indicates that it is from the same time (1946 to 1956).

That’s heartbreaking about your collection! I remember talking to my wife about what we would grab first if we ever had to evacuate in case of fire. The dog featured highly then the kids (we debated long about that). Now, however, there are my knives to think about…

Joking aside, I honestly don’t know if I could pick up and start again. Respect to you, SAKguy, for doing just that!
