Day 18 -

As mentioned in a reply to David’s compliment of my Canoe carried yesterday, I pulled out 2 other Canoes from there boxes to admire and examine the differences between a Case and a Buck.    (Blades)

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

The Buck sports a thicker spine, and Case a thinner blade for finer cuts.

A group photo of the 4 Canoes and one of my favorites a Tribal Lock just because I like the spear style blade and also drop points as well.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Thanks Farmer X and Steve!

Beautiful knives folks!

Day 17
A Schatt & Morgan Harness Jack.

Nice HJ !

Day 18

Last of my I.XL knives.  This one isn't too small and is well made.  A little over sharpened in it's life before me, but still very useable.

Day 18 - 1+

As I shared earlier, I knew the blade shape of my Tribal Lock was similar to my Canoe(s).  I have since compared to my newest carry which is the Buck Saunter (250) as I adore the blade shape along with the S35VN steel. I did a side by side picture, there are more similarities, the handle…

Explains my impulse purchase of a second one when I learned MidwayUSA had it for sale at less than half price with a discount code. Arrived Saturday.

:like: I hope you'll like it, too. And it's now your turn to be the enabler...I like the oak! :pok:

If you want the same one, the handle is walnut... at least that's what the package says.

Overall, I'm not a huge fan.  The blade seems super cheap and overall it doesn't seem well made.  On the positive side, it works fine, and it is MUCH lighter in my pocket than other pocket knives  :tu:

I've had my eye on the spearpoint Case Barlows for a while.  Once I get over the guilt of buying all the new stuff I've gotten lately I suspect one will be on my shopping list.  :D

Day 18

I'm carrying my Opinel No 6 again today, but today's pic is another knife that belonged to my grandfather.  According to the tang stamp, it's an Imperial from 1946 to 1956.  It's in pretty sad shape, so I plan on doing some light restoration on it.  He was in the Merchant Marines during this time, so I suspect that this knife was at sea for many years.
