The 301 on cigar duty again.

It’s one of my favorite trads to take camping or on the road, because I have a high level of confidence that it can handle just about anything that might reasonably be asked of a pocketknife, while remaining easy and inexpensive to replace if it gets lost or damaged.

I really like this knife; I get the sense it will see some pocket time. A few gripes: the edge is so-so and needs some work, and it is a bear to open. I think it is the geometry, not necessarily the spring tension/strength. Hope fully it breaks in a bit. Regardless, I really like it!  :tu:

The Buck 388 toothpick and 385 mini toothpick usually come as a set in a nice gift tin.  Check out Wal-Mart around Christmas.  That's when I got these two a few years ago.  I think they offer the same set with a different handle material every year. The mini is especially sharp.  I mean it is scary sharp to the point that I suspect black magic might have been involved. >:D  The Mont Blanc pen does not come with the knives though.

When I received this one (it was a surprise gift), I had a minor freak-out and sent it to a knife mechanic so he could out new covers on it. He said there was no evidence of outgassing whatsoever and it would be a shame to alter such a beautiful old knife. So this little Schrade retains its celluloid covers. I don't use it much, but I do keep an eye on it. Seems stable thus far.

If I remember correctly, a good portion of your collection was lost due to a fire, and are these excellent examples of Jacks and traditionals are  survivors or new acquisitions? 
Between yours, David’s and Steve’s examples there are so much history of pocket carry…

@ Gareth - luv the scales on the White penknife. I would prefer to see a USER knife, yet do enjoy the pristine examples shared as well. 😜
