Wurth 1/4 Inch Mini Ratchet

For many tasks, the handful of slotted screwdrivers (and  usually Phillips) doesn't cut it. Thus, you often have to carry some type of bits for Torx.

It's been a struggle for me going on nearly a decade.

I really don't like attaching them to multitools--ergonomics suck over real screwdrivers. Small screwdrivers that store bits in the handle work decently (currently, I carry the PB Swiss 6464 as needed), but they're well, round. Thus, not too comfortable in a pocket.   Usually, the solution for the 5-6 years has been some type of mini ratchet--Chapman to start with, and then I got into cheaper ones (with arguably better ratchets). However, none stored the bits on-board.

Recently, I was ordering some other EDC stuff from Wurth, and stumbled upon this one.

Similar to the Litton Pocket Socket of the '90s, the bits are stored in a removable tray that snaps into the handle.  It's only 5" long and a half-inch thick.  Thus, I decided to give it a shot.

Can't wait until it gets here. I plan to tweak the bit layout. Seems most of the smaller bit sets include T30, but no T27. If you own Stihl, chances are, you're  grabbing that driver weekly for some maintenance task.

I love it! :like:
It's nice and flat, it could easily have a pocket clip.

I thought about that myself--it's the only thing that's really missing from a virtually perfect design.

Now that I've got a 3D printer and a slight idea of knowing what the heck I'm doing (as I can usually print off Thingiverse files with good results), I may just figure out a way for it to have a pocket clip.

Easiest solution would probably be to print a new bit insert with a clip on it, but I don't know how the bits attach. I don't know if it's friction or inset magnets that hold them in. Guess I'll see when it shows up.
