Alright, I want to start by giving a huge thank you to everyone whose contributed to the box over the years. This was such a cool thing to be able to bring to my old scout buddies, and they had a great time digging through it at camp.

Friend A wanted to pose with his choices:

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

A lanyard/badge holder (he says the ones at his work suck)
A corkscrew
A mid 80s 110 with the tip rounded off (probably a home repair for a broken tip). The Buck is definitely well used, and he loves all the nicks and dings. I said he could send it to Buck for a touch up and new blade if he wants, but he'll probably keep it as is for a garden knife.

Friend B just wanted this butterfly. He said it "went with his car" and that his wife used to do butterfly tricks when she was younger, so he was going to try to talk her into showing it off.

More pics tomorrow, because the server is fighting me on one of them and I'm ready for bed!

Getting close to the end now. Friend C took the largest lot. I know we've abandoned the 1-4 rule, but I think I should've reined my guys in a bit. On the one hand, it's good to clean out the box a bit (and I know some of that stuff has been rattling around in there for years), but I don't want to take advantage. Besides restocking the box not quite to bursting with good stuff (no old beaters), I'm awlso going to pitch in on the server fund next month to make up for it.

Friend C Haul:

Mechanical Pencil

Boxcutter Style Pencil

Crescent Multitool

Old Timer (I think it's an Irish Stockman, but I didn't take a pic of the stamp)

No name BSA knife

Remington "Shoot Like a Girl" Trapper (His wife is in fact the best shot out of all of us)

I saw the Old Timer but didn't put it in the box.  If it were a CASE, I would call it a Muskrat Skinner.  Two blades.  USA.  The blades were thinned down perfectly to make an 'opener' for furs.
I have no idea what the 1-4 rule is.  I will post a catalog drawing of the Schrade.  1990 catalog.  Best wishes.  G

Schrade also called it a Muskrat. I have one of those that I've had since the '70s.

One more from someone else that I missed.  [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

And with how much we took as a group, I don't think I'll take anything except one of these Trim Trios. We grabbed them since there were four of them and four of us. The top one is off brand, but seems pretty good. It has the "pharmaceutical spatula" and a pair of scissors that slide all the way out stashed inside.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

I'm doing some traveling the next couple weeks, but if anyone wants to box I'll do my best to get it out ASAP. Thanks again to everyone who stashed anything in here over the years, it really made my old patrol's day.

Time for a bump.  :hatsoff:
There's plenty of goodness left in the box and no telling what friend BP might have added.  Now we need to know who wants it next.  Copy and paste the list into your own post with your name added and send a PM to BPRoberts with your info and he will get the box out to you asap.  Take what you want out of the box, adding anything back to the box is optional.  All you have to do is send the box on to the next person for the low price of $21.05 flat rate shipping.

Giving this another bump.  If anyone would like to experience the glorious discovery of the secret contents of the surprise box add your name to this list and PM your info to the previous recipient.  You can take whatever you want out of the box, add whatever you want to the box, and then you mail it to whoever signs up after you.  Simple as that.  The current postage rate is $21.05 which is still less expensive than date night, for the entertainment value received.  :pok: :pok:

I try to plug the GAW box whenever I can.  I've done so a couple of time in the SAK-A-Like challenge.   :D

Been thinking about this for the last couple of weeks.  BPRoberts has had the box since July, and nobody else has called for being the next recipient.  I'd hate to see the box go dormant and sit in somebody's closet for nearly a year like it did many years ago.  I know BP's buddies took a lot out of the box but I'm sure there's a lot more left in there, including whatever BP placed in the box.  So I've decided to take the box next unless somebody who hasn't had the box yet decides they want it.  I will be sending BP my info.

Might be delayed by a day or two. My wife's car is in the shop and she's going to have to take mine on a trip out of state this weekend. I will try to get it out sooner, but should be early next week at latest.

Awlright, the box is officially on the way and slimmed down to about 16 pounds. It's still a cram to get it in there, so don't be shy, people!

:woohoo: I'm very excited to get the box in my hands again.  Tracking says Saturday.  I don't know what if anything I may keep, but I can assure you all that I will be adding to the box and might include something for the EDC fixed blade challenge in October.  So, who wants it next?  Just copy and paste the list into your post saying you'll take it and PM your info to me.

The box just arrived in good condition.  I opened it and dumped everything out to have a quick look, and I've got to say that Brother Roberts must have been an absolute wizard at Tetris because I could not get about a third of it back in the box.

It looks like there's a lot of good stuff in there and I'm going to take my time going through it all.  Should have it out to Brother Lazar by the end of the week.
