The new MC screwdriver at work.  The addition of the phillips screwdriver was a definite improvement over the old tool set.

I used the orange peeler to open a package of batteries.

I used the cuticle pusher as a flat driver to replace the batteries in a motion light.  I had to use a traditional screwdriver as a pry tool, and pounded it with a 10" Knipex pliers wrench, to get the back off of the light.  It was really stuck on there.  Too much for the Mini Champ.

Nice uses powernoodle! :like: :tu: :tu:

Battery covers are definitely the most common use of the 58mm Phillips driver for me. As a father to 2 young children size #0 Phillips screws are everywhere!

My usual 58mm SAK is the Rambler but I'll be very surprised if I don't have a few battery cover pictures in this thread myself before this challenge is over.

So what do you do when the kids tie a tight knot into one of the costumes?  Why you break out the nail cleaner on your MC to get it undone.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

Day 2

One of the tools I use most in my SAKs. The 58 mm bottle opener works very nicely. I cannot understand why Vic never introduced this tool in the 74 mm line. Its absence was the main reason why I never got to grips with the Executive.

Cheers,

Simon

Day 2, opening mail and parcel

What's in the mail today?

SAKs!  :woohoo:

And then there's a package from Switzerland, from Ibach to be exact...

Inside are three SAKs I sent in for a spa treatment and repair at the Victorinox factory.

A red ribbed cadet, a Soldier..

aaand...

The blue alox Master Craftsman that I managed to pick up for a staggering $ 42 a couple of months back that had a snapped off main blade.

It came back with a nice new blade fitted:

It's always great to use a SAK to open a package that contains another SAK.

And that Master Craftsman is amazing - that thing deserves it's own thread!!! I've always wanted a Master Craftsman (I know, it's just a Ranger with a back Phillips instead of a corkscrew...) because that's the model the Apollo astronauts took on missions with them to the moon.

I’m not always the biggest fan of the blades on the 58mm SAKs (all the other tools are great!) but they are great for opening mail!

Day 3 Preview - I expect to be using my Minichamp to open a package that contains a(nother) Casio digital watch tomorrow…

Day 2 of 30:
Demonstrating my preferred method of peeling these little oranges as opposed to using the "orange peeler."

Cut the top off, score through the peel using my finger as depth control, and then peel the four pieces off.

Also used the main blade to open up the box that my daughter's birthday present came in. She wanted an electric scooter, and we found a good deal on one. Used the main blade to cut all of the tags and zipties off during assembly as well.

    Day 3
After all the 'mail opening' photos that got everyone on the edge of their seats, I decided that I might as well be a parasite and do one as well.  What an idea.  This is MiniChamp slicing open the monthly Love Letter that I get from Duke electric.  That is the most considerate company that I have ever been associated with.  They never miss a single month without remembering to write.  Kind of makes me get a little misty eyed when I think about it.  There are all sorts of mathematics on their correspondence, but I never was a numbers person.  I glance at it, then put the note away with a stack of others.  Sigh.
