Tell me about it PN!  My Minichamp was on mine so long, prior to this, that it was almost permanently fused

This Challenge has a strange way of making new MTs appear on my key ring.

DAY 18.  I was reading the Powerful Pete thread, which inspired me to search for my Sears version.  Then I decided to take a pic of the PS2 with a collection of other keychain tools.

That was the first time I ever saw the Powerful Pete thread.  Very interesting.  I have this one, and a blued one with two driver bits like friend Fireman.  Somewhere.   I carry the round one every day.  Best wishes.  G

Day 18

It is MONDAY!

This NEXTOOL has continued to fill the little gap!
Pliers, file, scissors, blade and small flat and Phillips drivers.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Now the question, add a couple more for bag kits, or hunt for a LM PS4???
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

There are plenty of PS4s on eBay, but its somewhat rare to find one in like-new condition at a decent price because the coloration on the scales rubs off so easily.  And if you do find a new-ish one, its going to be somewhat spendy.  I bought a like-new PS4 in June for $60.  Not that I needed it.   :ahhh  You can get them cheaper of course if you are okay with seeing the wear on the scales.  And as you know, a new NexTool Mini Sailor S11 will be around $30.

I would say that you prolly need several of each.  :woohoo:

And, just as I  suspected!

Asking a question, that I already knew what the answer would be!

Yes, the S11 is a very good purchase that I have had no regrets.

PS4 will remain on my radar!   I am baffled why LM abandoned such a well designed tool family  :dunno:

As an MT aficionado, I wholly agree.  But for Leatherman, it all comes down to $.

Fortunately, NexTool and others are there to fill the void, and hopefully NexTool will give us one the same size as the PS4.   :woohoo:

Day 14:

Well, this is embarrassing. I took the past couple days photos (except for today's) on my cheap Vivitar. Unfortunately, there aren't any LInux drivers for it, while it works fine on my Kyocera (which runs on a watered-down form of Android).

It'll be out of order, but I'll try to get those working tomorrow.

However, I've figured out how to make transferring photos from my phone to Linux and then resizing and uploading them here (and on other forums) as easy as it was in Windows.

Went to a wireless keyboard (WITHOUT numerical pad) for my American Truck Simulator setup, and also opened up a few new additions to the collection. Used all three tools throughout the day. Logitech is for this laptop--and again, works flawlessly.

These days, getting to most small batteries is a complete and utter pain in the rear. Past few times, I had to break out my heavy shop shears.

Day 19

Best thing I can say about yestiddy is I got a haircut, didn't starve to death, or get sucked into a black hole.  Here are the haircut photos.  Actually, just the shop and the girl who cuts my hair.  The actual shop location has changed about four times in the last 16 years.  Almost all of the barber shops in town have closed, and this one has less business than ever.  I'm not exactly sure where men go to get a haircut now?
Not so very long ago, there were no women barbers in town.  It was an all male club.  Plenty of business.  Guys would talk with their friends about fishing, and dogs, and work.  No more.  Those big standing ash trays were in the shops.  Lots of smokers.  Even the barber's chairs had an ash tray built in.  Snub out your ciggie, right there before they flooped a striped cover over your clothes.  Most could stop smoking long enough to get their hair cut.  Then they would light up before they left and give the barber his $2.  A thing of the past.
Best wishes.  G

It was interesting that friend Echo put a bottle of hair tonic in his post.  I just saw the little display of Reuzel thingies in the barber shop yesterday.  I wish I had known Echotech was in the barber shop.  I would have said hello.  Best wishes.  G

Any day like that is a great day, especially getting a haircut!!  It's that way here, almost.  We're down to 3, and none of them are busy except for back to school or other events.

Yes, PS4 prices are borderline extortion!
PST and BONDs can be found at much more reasonable prices.   And, I am please for the most part with my impulse purchase of the NexTool S11.

The scissors are…

Day 19

Did scissor comparison be teen S11 and LM XE6

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

The S11 is just to small, a file or serrated blade would be a better option for my large fingers.

You described my observation of the business pretty well.

I grew up in Kalamazoo, went to same barber as my dad for 18 years of my life.
You described a typical Saturday morning of my youth. 3 BARBERS, waiting area jammed full of potential business, accept, to smoke they requested you step outside. There were no numbers, tickets or appointments. When you walked in, you scanned the room and you knew who was there before you.
If you went to get a cig, your place in line was not loss.
Three barbers, each would handle four customers an hour, sometimes five.  On Saturdays, open 8:00AM till 1:00PM.
I visited the shop till one day, home from school on the weekend, (it was 1972), I was growing my hair over my ears😉, the style then.  Went down to get a trim, and the upper parts layered so less wild.  Wanted to be presentable for Sunday at church.  Spending my money too!   Walked out not with what I requested🫣. The cut was what the barber thought my DAD would want.  High and tight may be the best description.
NEVER RETURNED!

That was 53 years ago,  wow!  Memories.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Powernoodle Day 19

Today while getting in 7,834 steps at the state fair, my NexTool Mini Flagship was accompanied by a Roxon KS2E Noir.  The Roxon's scissor is pretty large - bigger than the Leatherman Surge scissor.

What should be a simple decision is turning into something less so with the pointed stick mini challenge, for Friday.
Consideration being given to the Dime this afternoon.
