Well I fell off the cart here a while back and got too busy to take pics and post .  But, the Tinker has stayed in my pocket all month.  I ended up losing several paper clips   :twak: and hardly ever used any duct tape, except in the lab.

Fun to catch up and maybe I’ll get another chance with the challenge  :woohoo:

Day 30

Well, this is it. Another day and we can roll credits on this. It has been quite fun, and I have enjoyed all the pics and tools. I intended to make this challenge funnier, more entertaining, with more jokes, more MacGyverisms, more projects. Alas, life got in the way and some days, all I could do is take a quick pic and rush to work or deal with life.
Well, maybe in the future, I will join another one of these and have more time and energy for it. Until then, a big thank you to everyone who came along, either participating or just following. It was still lots of fun. Please request the badge if you are done, it makes it easier for me to award the badges with active requests rather than doing it manually.

Day 29
The Companion opened a box with a new light. Then the tweezers removed the plastic piece used to prevent the battery from making contact and accidentally turning the light on.  Forgot to include the tape and paperclip in the picture but they were in the pouch next to me.

Carrying the 84mm Spydernox today
That's a good looking 84mm.

So sorry for your family’s loss.  Whether expected or not the loss of a loved one, even a pet, hurts
Thank you.

Day 29

Needed to clean out my Gerber EAB as the opening felt a little sluggish.  Had to use the paperclip to line up the little plastic washers.  I wonder if there's any benefit in swapping them out to bronze washers.

Here is my used trio on this challenge Climber, Super TInker & Standard, most challenging to use was Standard just cause it doesnt have scissors what i use quite frequently but i managed to do it without me changing to another SAK.

Huge thanks to ReamerPunch who made this challenge and all who joined this challenge, it was quite pleasant to read and look how many diffrent ways you can use MacGyver tools.

Day 30

I did have to duct tape some stuff.  I have an electric hedge trimmer that refuses to keep its electrical plug in place.  Every time I use it, I have to resort to duct taping the cord to the trimmer body.  A more permanent fix would be better, but I only use it once or twice a year.  I also used duct tape to keep some damp shirts from blowing away on a clothes line.  Worked fine.
Watching the old MacGyver shows felt like watching them for the first time.  I probably watched almost all of them when they aired, but didn't remember any particulars.
I do remember doing a field repair on a piece of equipment years ago when the series was on.  I used my ever present green 108mm to do the work.  The person who owned the particular piece of equipment didn't even say thank you.  He did laugh when he saw me doing the repair with my 'Swiss Army Knife' and told the other person there I was 'MacGyver'.
This challenge didn't follow the usual IMR challenge sequence.  The usual routine is for the first 15 days to just drag on forever.  Then the time displacement vortex anomaly speeds up and the last 15 days just fly by. Everything kept a steady pace this time.  Strange.  I got exposed to some newer members this time, and also enjoyed fraternizing with some old friends.  Everyone seemed to put some effort and enthusiasm in their photos and posts.  Thanks to all who put up with my annoying posts and thanks again for the nice comments.  Best wishes.  Gary (IMR)

DAY 30

No matter what I do, I seem to always come back to this edc setup, small knipex pliers, Fenix e99ti, pencil (not pictured) and the classic SD (with two paperclip)

Cannot see the edc carry changing now, shame in a way as the Leatherman tools seem not to be carried anymore...

Thank you all for a fun challenge...I need to watch some more MacGyver shows....

Day 30, Mac is completing finale today with Cyber SwissChamp Lite AVT mod. Anybody besides me ever wonder why Victorinox did not take advantage of popularity of the television series back in its heyday and come out with a MacGyver line of SAKs? Included  the Topeak McGuyver MT and Topeak McGuyver XS as examples.

DAY 30  I did not defuse any bombs, which makes me believe that there are not enough in my life.  Not sure how to rectify that.  My major feat was repairing my truck seat cover, and I'm very proud of that because I used the money I would have spent on another cheap cover to buy a Wenger I didn't have.  :D

Congrats to all you MacGyvers!

Day 30

Last day with classic sd scissor use.

I had been carrying the classic SD for quite some months. It has been very handy and very easy to carry on keychain. The added tapes had occasional use. The tapes are very handy when they saved the day.

The tweezers and toothpick were great help. Never did I realized I use them that much until this challenge.

This and the bond challenge. I will not forget. These two challenges happened when there were some big changes going on for me. This was one of the low point I was struggling through.

Some part of the blade seems to have chipped when viewing against light source. I wonder if it is time for me to sharpen it...  :climber: I thought I would buy one or more Sak through this challenge. But strangely that did not happen. Or I was either really not motivated to do it or too busy.

Day 30

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

This CHALLENGE was surprisingly educational as well as entertaining for this old codger!  :woohoo:

I learned that I like the 91mm models as much as I do my 84mm units.

I acquired a few more models than I thought I would.  The picture above is of the SAKs I know I will rely on going forward as common tools, that one or two will find in a pocket.

These include left to right, SPORTSMAN, SPARTAN, TINKER 91, CLIMBER, and COMPACT.

THE TINKER will be paired with the CLIMBER, in a sheath
As a pack kit. The TINKER replacing a SE Spartan.

The SPORTSMAN will see pocket duty replacing the EVO10, same tools just slimed carry.

The TECH SPARTAN looks good  and is most functional for my needs.  And the COMPACT, for carry to meetings or social events. The pen feature will be handy for forms or notes.

I did enjoy awl the posts by awl!  Even reread many more than once.

eBay was my friend this month as I did acquire a couple models at bargain buy it now pricing, including a model I had desired just for metal file but did not like the new price. A less than $30 option appeared, and I received a very very good MOUNTAINEER, that had a dull blade and a little bit of tack on a scissor blade.

I never really watched MacGyver in the 80s, have tried a few episodes recently but just not  holding my interest.

Thank you  ReamerPunch for hosting.  :hatsoff:

PS: Last night, I did actually use the PAPERCLIP and the wrap of tape.    I will need to recreate and share later today.   The resulting creation went home with a granddaughters friend who had a cast on her arm, broke on the weekend.   I MacGYVERED a tool to make her life a tad less stressful.   Standby…

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!
