Day 4

Agent 4198 password dragonscale.  Protocol red.  Intensive surveillance to try and locate subject Woodswalker.  Infra-red photography revealed a possible sighting.  However, it was determined in spite of the burglar mask that the likely body mass of the suspect in the photo was in the 12 to 15 pound range.  Photographic analysis led to the probable identification as being an adult member of the genus Procyon, more commonly called a raccoon.  Age and sex not determined.  Still taken from night video follows.
A three-man team is now in the immediate area to effect a take-down of the Woodswalker if and when located.  Level 3+ body armor, restraining equipment, night vision goggles, etc.  Subject WW should be viewed as extremely dangerous. Viewing devices have been placed in high trees in the area by use of silent drones.  It is possible that we may need to call in a 00 agent from Texas.  Code named Duck.  Now all we need is a break.

I just wanted to compliment friend Reamer on doing a fine job with the challenge.  I have only conducted two of these challenges so far.  I can tell you that it isn't easy to keep things straight and level.  There are always a few wrinkles.
Just as a reminder.  It is standard procedure to number each of your daily posts.  This isn't a special requirement of this challenge.  It really applies to every challenge.  Have fun everybody.  This might be the only chance to play MacGyver.
Best wishes.  G

Day 4

Spartan, tape and paper clip enjoying a nice espresso before starting the day. Don't think it will see much use since it will be in my packed luggage for the long flight home.

Day 3

Like a lot of you, I figured I'd give the Small Tinker a spin. This refill hose needs to be replaced. In the meantime, I trimmed it so it'll be more cooperative. It's gotten stiff from age/hard water, and was too long to fit properly in the tank. Should do for a few days until I can get the new one on.

A true MacGyver use cutting hose!

Carrying my scientist, he's ready for anything! Ive never considered carrying paperclips or duct tape before. There's really situations that happen everyday that can benefit of carrying these items. Nothing yet but looking forward to see what creativity they provide.

Day 4

Agent 00Duck reporting for duty.

Had to do some early morning reconnaissance and extricate these go-go beans from their confinement.  It was a bit dicey for a bit but we pulled through.

Fought a valiant fight with a 2yo to go to sleep last night. We both gave in and crashed about the same time. So posting yesterdays photo late.

Day 2:
Was busy with students and science fair projects all day yesterday so my gear stayed in the pocket.

Wow, strike anywhere matches.  They were so popular at one time, but hard to find nowadays.  I tried ordering some online and was sent strike on box.  Highly disappointed.

Not sure if you have Krogers grocery stores where you are, but that’s where I find them in Texas.

Day 4 +

As I shared earlier in the week, my OCD had flaired up, requiring me to do research and learn more about Victorinox models, especially the models used by MacGyver and the devout followers of this site.

The result was I found that my Tinker is a 84mm version, a smaller version than actually  used by Mr Mac!

I ordered a 91mm version of the TINKER, it arrived today!

Pictured with the SE Spartan a 91mm w/Corkscrew.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Then following my flawed logic, I now was curious if a 84mm version of the Spartan was in the wild.
Well not exactly?!?!
I found a 84mm model, fitted with a Corkscrew, and a nail file in place of the Spartan’s pen blade. A model named the Sportsman.
[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]
If memory is correct it is configured very much like my EVO 10, just the nail file faces inward on the Sportsman.

The Sportsman also provides me a Corkscrew companion to my 84 Tinker😜.

With two purchases I ticked off 3 of my OCD issues I never knew I had until this challenge kicked off.

A third model is yet to arrive, a Super Tinker, that should compliment my other favorite and big brother to the Spartan, MY CLIMBER! 😉

I now hope I can sleep tonight!!!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Now you just need to find a Tourist.  That is the true 84mm Spartan.  Same tool set including two blades.  No nail file.  Discontinued, but not too hard to find.  I think there are two of us on the MacGyver using a Tourist.  (I think I actually like the Sportsman better.  Neat nail file.) Best wishes.  G
