Day 7

00🦆, reporting for duty.  This box put up a good fight but in the end my Tinker ended up handling it.

I remember buying this Tinker at Service Merchandise (ya'll remember that store?) many moons ago because of MacGyver.  I'm glad I rediscovered it several years ago because it's what brought me to this awesome forum.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

DAY 7

Added a magnet and upgraded the paper clip to a hair pin...

The magnet was an idea based upon parking the car over a storm drain, and possibly of dropping my keys, after a brief juggle of the keys in the hand

Works nicely

Day 8

Not sleeping much doesn't make you think better.  I started to brush my teeth with Aspercreme last week, I think it was?  Got as far as putting it on my brush.  I told myself that I wouldn't do THAT again.
So far I haven't.  I did however pick up the hydrocortisone tube three times before catching myself.  Including yesterday.
The AI demon that puts things on my MTo page can't figure out something to torment me with either.  I mentioned getting a continuous stream of scantily clad offers with Dana and Demi.  I decided on Dana at one point, since I liked her when she was on China Beach.  Decided I would like to see her in fluffy bunny slippers and a warm, snuggly robe making coffee in the morning.  Little smile and her nice voice asking if I wanted waffles or eggs and ham.
That same AI fiend decided that I didn't want a movie star with a few extra years on her.  Now I am getting the shotgun approach to romance.  Caitlin Clark.  Basketball player, maybe?  23?  Too young for me.  Jessica something or other.  Tarlov, maybe?  Might be 40 years old.  She is the news wonk on some TV show or other.  Sounds like she is trying to speak with a clothes pin on her nose.  Never has smiled.  Not in her entire adult life.  Shivers.  This morning, I was served up some young Latina.  Bikini photos that leave nothing to the imagination.  Never heard of her before.  Maybe a singer?  Probably can't cook.  Starts every sentence with, "I'm like..."  Cell phone surgically implanted in one hand.  Nope. Nope. Nope.
I am considering letting one of the raccoons in the house every morning.  Warm, snuggly fur.  Little smile and bright eyes.  I will ask if it wants waffles or eggs and ham.
Best wishes.  G  [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

DAY 8

I was reading a thread about Compacts and had a moment of panic  :ahhh  I had an advertising Compact on display, but did I own a daily user?  Relax, I do have a red Compact.  It already had a paperclip, add a roll of Batman tape, and voila!  A MacGyver Compact.

Buddy, it's a good thing you don't brush your teeth in the workshop.  Aspercreme probably tastes better than Loktite or Never-Seez.  Maybe not, but it might feel better on the way out.  About your love life, raccoons can be warm, fuzzy friends, but I highly recommend rabies shots for both of you.

Stay well, brother.

Rocking the Alox Bantam today....I figured you'd all find the humor in this. I was looking for free e-books for my Kobo e-reader on their site and found this. It's hilariously bad, written perhaps by AI in another country. I mean, technically I suppose  Lisa was a youthful female child, but probably not how I'd phrase it.....the whole book is like that and bizarrely Amazon URLs sometimes appear in the text.

i've been out at my cabin with my girlfriend where there is no cell reception. Usually I can get my SAT to work but lately it's been spotty so here are my catch up posts  :ahhh

💥DAY 04💥

this red alox PX just feels so MacGyvery in hand lol
I've been choosing the PX over my FX lately. it's that three layer thickness- it's just perfection
sometimes. my Rusty MacGyver multitool accompanied The biodegradable brown tape which has actually come in handy surprisingly so might need to start carrying a bit on me. Used some as a fire starter as well. It was chilly up there so we had the woodstove going 24/7
the ginkgo leaf was my girlfriend's contribution to the picture lol

💥DAY 05💥

for Day 5 it was the PX again but the ST MXC had to step in for the heaviest tasks. hadn't been up to my cabin in a while so I needed to do some maintenance to the property and for that ST is always the right tool for the job. Rusty and brown tape at the ready with my copper reylight penlight w/ 219b 3000K emitters.

First, must address Gary’s post;

Only keep toothpaste near the tooth brush, all other tubes of anything must be stored elsewhere and carried into the place when applying.

Also, I agree DANA is a good choice, unfortunately Slyvestor Stalone  has eyes for her in TULSA KING, she apparently prefers guys older than you or me🙄

Demi, just not enough meat on the bones, despite her appearance on LANDMAN,  looking good.  She seems to be unlucky in love, best to avoid.

Raccoons are terrible house companions unless you rob the cradle and start when they are very young.

All the best, but for this oldie,  flying solo, now appears to be my destiny!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

💥DAY 06💥

on day 6 the weather took a turn for the worst so my gf and I spent most of the day and night in the cabin which admittedly wasn't the worst lol

PX, rusty and brown tape at the ready but literally no uses on day 6

💥DAY 07💥

on day 7 we were going to do some planting around the property but we never got to it so basically more of the same lol and no uses

Day 8

My OCD episode has been resolved.  Yesterday the last SAK arrived.  And my issue or suffering between CORKSCREW or PHILLIPS options is addressed.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Top Center - Tinker 84 and a SPORTSMAN (a TOURIST is in transit)

Left Group - TINKER 91 top & a SE SPARTAN

Right Group - SUPER TINKER top & a CLIMBER.

I had previously paired the SPARTAN and CLIMBER in a kit.  Realizing both had corkscrews were redundant.

Now I can pair a SUPRR TINKER with the SE SPARTAN (or any SPARTAN), and have CORKSCREW & a PHILLIPS together for any need.

The same if I paired a CLIMBER with a TINKER 91.

Or, a CLIMBER with a TINKER 84,
Or, a SUPER TINKER with a SPORTSMAN or a TOURIST

WHEW!!! :climber:

Yep I may have over thunk this kit thing.

Oh yes, before I forget, a COMPANION arrived yesterday too. Could not resist when I realized it is a 91size tool. Price was very good😁

Fortunately for me, this is adjustment month for budget plans, and both electric and gas services require no payments in APRIL :salute: :tu: :woohoo:

Friend Gordon was telling us about how much he liked the Mountain Men series.  I just happened to run across the obituary for Tom Oar.  Died in late November 2024 in Lakeland, Florida.  Evidently he finally moved like his daughter wanted.  One less to feed at the chuck wagon.  Worn out boots.  One more empty saddle.  Best wishes.  G

Loose doorknobs can be a pain for a SAK - if the SAK has too many layers, it's hard to get on the screw. But I find that the 2D can opener Phillips works on a 2 or 3 layer model, in most cases.
