I'm nearly in the club, just ordered the plain edge one on Amazon thanks to the OP explaining the model numbers etc. Can't wait to get it, was a toss up between the Spirit and a LM Surge. Reckon I made the right decision...

Regards, Jon.
that doesn't mean you shouldn't buy a surge too…  8)

Any one know anything about the brand DESERT LAND as seen on this Spirit-X-CC-BO?

I don't think it is related to ... but it's funny.

I'm in, had one (2 actualy) for nearly 2 yrs! Both the same, is it the S or X? 1x spear point blade and scissors. Got them while in the States from the Felinevet (Tim). I have one, my son who is a cop has the other, keeps it on his duty belt, finds it excelent, as do I.
It seemed like a good idea at the time.

How about a Spirit model like the X model except replace the metal file with the belt cutter from the SwissTool?   :ahhh

Well, Hello.  I've just found this thread and being a diehard Vic fan, myself, I had to read EVERY post.  So I'll be the newest member to the Spirit Owners Club :salute:

A little about me?  I've been a Plumber in the U.S. for 16 yrs.   Been carrying a S.A.K since I was a kid.  In fact it was a Mechanic model, with the pliers.  Used to tell people scissors were for school girls.  When  I found the SwissTool, I was in love.  Had one on my side @ work since the 90's (I believe I had a "97 model).  Went to Belize C.A. to visit my wife's family and forgot that I had it on my belt when I arrived at the airport to leave.  It was lose it or give it to my Brother-in-law.  Needless to say, My Bro is now a SwissTool fan.  I went strait to the local home improvement store and bought another as soon as I got off the plane.

There a little harder to come by, now, but when I got my Spirit online, I had a heck of an ordeal getting it, too.  Eventually I got one, wrong model, but decided to keep it and order the parts I wanted separately.  I couldn't bring myself to return it and wait several weeks for the correct model, you see.

Eventually I got everything I wanted and my only complaint is that I didn't get two.  Gave my replacement SwissTool to my wife and a new SOG to my son(because I didn't like it at all).

The Spirit came with the wrong wrench ("L", instead of ratchet).  The pouch was a cheap brown (fake) leather and the brown started flaking off after opening  & closing for a week.  Not to mention the aforementioned crooked Vic emblem.

My only other complaint is that the bit bracket only came with six bits.  However I have adapted the bits that I use, anyway, so that isn't really an issue.

That's all the complaints I can make.

The replacment belt pouch is # 4.0832.N

Here's a run-down on what other tools I've adapted to the replacement belt pouch.  They are as follows:

A 1/4" drive for use with any 1/4" drive sockets I may need.

A 1/4" & 5/16" nut driver.

The corkscrew with the jeweler's screwdriver.

The bit extension.

The 3" (micro) Widgey Bar:  http://www.countycomm.com/titaniumwidgy.html

The best tweezers in the world (General Norman Schwarzkopf approved): http://www.countycomm.com/tweezer.html

A couple of lockpicking tools (a rake & a wrench).  Though I would rather have these:  http://www.itstactical.com/skillcom/lock-picking/serepick-bogota-entry-toolset-review/

Pics to follow.

I totally agree, the Spirit is the iphone of MT's but without the app's, its for this reason I no longer carry it, to darn surgical and precise, sorry to say but for me, boring, went off it in six weeks, its currently on here for trade :(

I don't think my analogy has come across quite right. The Spirit is an excellent MT, I just find it boring. For me it has non of the tactile feel you get with the Wave, PST, PPP, Mulitiplier or other tools like these. The iphone comparison was supposed to convey its quality, excellence and desirability amongst MT's and obviously without the app's, hope this helps :tu:
