Great looking carries all!

Just got the SAK assembled. My hands hurt from abusing every tool in the house :O

Im very happy of my first custom build! :) Im going to carry this for a while and find out if I need any scales for this or not. I kind of like the raw outlook it has right now. I may have to hammer the pins again after a while and reprofile some tools a bit but it's only minor flaws. It feels sturdy enough and ready for use.

Im calling it "The Strategist". In the hope of making me more wise when im carrying it :D

Great work psg! That's a fantastic build, I'm impressed!

You might be able to get away with no scales since the pins don't stick out far. Maybe file down the sharp edges slightly and if there are any parts on the pins that catch, soften them too.

Have you used the driver yet? Mine feels like it can handle any precision tasks but I wouldn't necessarily trust it to put much torque on it.

Thanks Customod!

I may gravitate towards having some scales on the Strategist, just to smooth out the grip and also for looks. White could be nice colour for this. Have to find some material and freetime first :)

Yeah the driver is good for small electronics screws but would propably break under more tension. I have more faith in my Huntsman with the bit driver.

It's a lucky day. Made my first custom SAK and sat next to a fire for a while. As always, the Curl is also with me :)

Great carries!

I am using the Reaver, a Micra copy with better scissors than the original and another custom built watch. 😁

Had the Curl with me today. I did carry the Stategist for a few days but I need scales on it to make it more pocket and hand friendly first. It's now either in the go bag or close at hand at home.

Got to use the Curl knife and bit driver today. Knife to open new battery plastics. Phillips bit to open toy battery compartment screws and a bigger torx bit to tighten screws on a balcony door that we couldn't close due to some movement of the pivots I quess. Those torxs were super tight and I was afraid at first to twist with a 90 deg handle that flexed under pressure. Until I remembered the LM warranty and just cranked the screws back tight. No damage done to the tool but only increase on the trust I have for LM's!

Yesterday I had a home day and opted to go light with the NexTool Flagship Mini. For its size this thing really packs a punch!

In the evening it helped me with some soldering and reassembling..

Interesting tool! It seems promising with the big scissors and the long phillips. How's the scissors? Do they have enough bend to cut good? Have you tested yet if the phillips fit a LM bit adapter?

The scissors on mine are some of the best on any tool I own. They cut rope better than even my Surge and some of my older 91mm Vics. They aren't as precise as the SAKs but as for raw cutting power they are hard to beat!

Yes and yes. I had tried the LM adapter and it does fit well

Well, it's a no brainer then! I think Nextool did great innovating as the (few) smaller plier based MT models are pretty much repeating the same form/geometry of the tool. Not that Im buying one but Im certainly interested in this MT

That's great that the LM adapter fits over the phillips. The range of use is vastly increased

Btw, the Surge scissors are in my opinion one of the best. Last time I used them to cut a beer can so that I could get a ash plate under my twig stove and it was pretty easy with the big scissors

Nice carry!

Fenix flashlights and Spydercos are the best :) This reminds me of what I carried few years back for some time. I had a Fenix PD32UE and Rebar on my belt and a Spyderco Delica 4 in my pocket. Good times.

Oh. I have the Fenix clipped to my pants as Im writing this :D

My carry for the past few days.

The Huntsman and the Strategist, always either one in my pocket. I've also used the bigger Fenix now as it has a rechargeable battery as compared to my Olight that uses a (expensive) CR123A battery. It also has a useful tactical switch and is easier to handle due to it's size. I don't really mind the size when it's clipped to my waist as it's pretty light. It has some intermittent contact issues due to a wrong lenght of the battery but works still ok.

I've oiled the two SAK's and the action of these has been improved quite a bit. I used paraffin oil on the Huntsman and gun oil on the Strategist as it needed at first better lubrication to wash out any metal dust.

Looking good!

I managed to squeeze in some time to make some tweaks to the Reaver. Most notably I added a pull cutter to the SE blade and a chisel/draw cutter/package opener to the file end as well as a large wire stripper to the base of the file.
