OK, here is my modified Victorinox SAK made by Neil. Won it in a contest over in the Charter Members forum. I call it the Special Technician. It has a blade, combo tool and corkscrew layer, metal saw/file and fine screwdriver layer, a pliers layer and a Phillips screwdriver and Mag glass layer. It has those beautiful translucent Smoke or Onyx scales to dress it up. Here is a photo and link to my blog with more photos of this creation built by Neil and design by me.

Thanks Neil!  :tu:  :salute:

I have several older Executives that have the smooth edge orange peeler blade. Also some with the fine serrations. Some photos and links;

Thanks for the picture.

Wavy Director looks great, don't think I've seen that.

Although I tend to prefer the original red cellidor scales, I have to admit that I was taken with the camoflage Spartan.

Cheers :tool:

Another real beauty!

I don't think someone just removed the serrations on the orange peeler. I don't remember if I've seen one before, has anyone else seen the non-serrated orange peeler?

Nice! I have never seen an alox Executive with a bail. I have seen the regular cellidor Executive with bail.

They are truly handsome, I have one with the serrated peeler, however keeping it on my keychain did tend to batter the cellidor

Here is something you don't see very often. A red scaled Wenger Ranger. Its the Century model with partially serrated liner lock blade.

Oh dear, I seemed to have aquired another Astronaut...One for the pocket another to be kept in the box!

Have I caught a bug or what?? :salute:

Well me being a sak doctor  ::) and dealing with many a patients like you I seem to come to the conclusion you may have.  The best advise I can give you is to send one to me for experimental purposes.  :D  :D

I bought 2!Ones been re-scaled woth Stay-Glos,as my survival SAK,the other gained a Plus scale and tends to be my favourite EDC.

In other SAK related news my over due Wenger J10 arrived today!Thing is I'm sitting here wondering if I can make a Wenger Evo Gripped DofE ???

And now heres the pix:

I still fancy the idea of doing the Wenger DofE,but it wont be based on this little guy,its a keeper! While its far from being tool heavy, its strangely charismatic!
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

Cool use of the pinstripe scale. I love advertising SAKs when some thought is put into it rather than just slapping the company name on there.

Ok I won it. It wasn't cheap but a Star Wars Darth Vader classic. I'm using the scales to put on a rambler for my son :)

Steve, there's a fourth one - of C-3PO - that isn't widely available in the US, even from Think Geek.

My EDC is a red scaled one from Scibeer.  I really like it, and it sliced up my apple today.  After a few years it may be transitioned out of EDC, but more on that later as the New Year EDC shuffle happens.

I don't know if there are better names for these older Wengers, but they are basically vintage versions of the Standard Series model 1.04.03 (Diplomat+Phillips) and the Commander.  The nailfiles have a nicer contoured tip (more visible for the other side) like the contouring of the tip on the older Vic 74mm nailfiles.  It is much nicer than the current design which I think makes a terrible cleaner tip on the modern Wengers.

Like that old style Wenger scissors,I haven't handled one of them yet only seen pictures of them, and a bail, looks like a very nice knife.
Rest is not idleness,
and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day,
listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is by no means a waste of time
