Got some 58mm rocks  :ahhh

What kind of rock are those? Look to be granite or something like it to me

Here's the SAKwiki page on them. They're all listed as 'granite' but I have my doubts about several. In particular the Andeer green looks like a metamorphic rather than igneous rock.

http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Victorinox+RocKnives

Wenger has a similar Lithos series.

http://www.sakwiki.com/show_image.php?id=1804

Yes I think SAKwiki would be the best reference, the names on the back of the boxes does not help much, one of them, mentions the name of a city in Brazil misspelled (Belo Horizonte is typed as Bel Horizonte), I´m not a rock expert but I dont think that exists a rock type with this name.

If you'd like I can post pictures of the labels not sure if it helps.

And thanks for the compliments!!!  :tu:

In addition to generic type, such as granite, sandstone, etc, a rock formation (a specific body of rock) is typically named for a 'type locality' where it is well represented. For instance the rocks in my back yard where I often photograph knives are Lyons Sandstone. That is a distinctive bed of rock that can be traced for hundreds of mile along the Front Range, and which is particularly well exposed at Lyons, Colorado, about 20 miles northwest of here. The igneous rocks in much of the area are the Boulder Creek Granodiorite.

OK, it would make sense if it was named like "Something" Belo Horizonte, but it is Bel Horizonte Brasilia (Country Capital), two locations in the name, the other knives make sense, this is the only one where the name seems weird....but thanks for the information anyway!

My latest are these old 74mm SAKS. I really wanted a vintage cellidor one with exposed rivets and now I have three! And three different ones at that: one without T&T, one with T&T and one with T&T and a bail!

(Image removed from quote.)

And all three are in like new condition. Thank you very much jazzbass!

he has nothing listed now but you could contact him and see if he has anything left -> http://feedback.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=hummer7884&ftab=AllFeedback&rt=nc&myworld=true

I already had a very good '62 example in my soldier collection.
So when I saw the condition of this one I had to have it.
Not cheap, but very good examples like this are very rare now.
This one looks like it was hardly used at all.

I've been gone for awhile, but I think I'll be getting back here more often. :)

Since my last post I expanded the Alox side of my SAKollection. (Damn, you guys were right about the alox bug... :D )

I wanted to buy a farmer (since everyone needs one right?), but the store didn't have any in stock so in the end I ended up with a Harvester.
Small collection of SAK's, (but growing rapidly. :D) not so fast at this time. :( And the most important of all: Ze Zuper Zoldier by Steve!  :ahhh
Wishlist for 2014: Rangergrip 88, Victorinox: CT41, Spirit X BO CC, Swisstool X BO, Some limited Alox stuffs and so on
