Rest is not idleness,
and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day,
listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is by no means a waste of time

An unused, vintage Small Tinker.  The picture isn't very good, but this one has some design features that I believe date it prior to 1973.  The small blade is a clip point.  The phillips screwdriver is square on two sides and rounded on the other two.  It incorporates a file onto one of the square edges.  The cap lifter has a wire scraper.  The can opener is marked "Pat".  The Victorinox shield has a slightly golden appearance, which I understand comes from the brass content in some of the earlier inlays.

I think it is kind of a cool little knife, and I wish they had stuck with square phillips/file.  If I am incorrect in my attempt to date this, and someone has more information, please set me straight.

I found a secondhand SwissTool in a shop. I have had some of the regular saks come and go all my life but it´s actually the first time I ever have hold or played with a swisstool.
And I can really see why so many praise this tool. The quality, fit and finnish just seems outstanding.
It looks a bit funny with it´s relatively small plierhead to handle ratio.
But what a great tool. Don´t know the name of that chiselground flathead but it`s pretty unique and I know I´m gonna use it alot.

Here is an old school electrician, with hard anodized blue scales, polished springs and Ti liners/keyring.  Ive been out of blue for awhile and it's nice to have some to use again.

Picked up this Victorinox Hunter XT for the bright orange scales. Would rather have had one with an awl instead of the Phillips Screwdriver but.....

Indeed!!!  Beautiful!!!

Been carrying my S14 again... great little knife; love the locking blade.  I love it right up to the time I need a phillips driver... then it's back into the drawer and something else that's appropriately equipped takes its place.

Wenger Champ and Vic Swiss Champ.

and another one of those pesky classics.

The Swiss champ was a bit of a beater so I stripped it down and tarted it up a little...

That would be difficult and wouldn't look that nice. You need an opener layer for your knife! ;-)

But meanwhile my knife had some evolution, I guess....

:mail:  Yay!  I got my mods just a half hour ago :woohoo:  It's so nice to finally hold them and open/close all the tools :D  Unfortunately, my workplace wifi does not seem to allow me to access the forum from my smartphone, so pics will have to wait until sometime tonight :(  I can probably get better pics with our actual camera instead of the cell anyway, but it's more of a process to go through Photobucket to post them than it is to simply do it on the cell.  Oh well, pics later tonight :)

I picked up a used SwissChamp on ebay for $20, it arrived today.  Like new condition except for some outside wear from pocket carry.  It's the first Swiss Champ I've ever had and the biggest SAK I now own.  I'm a happy camper.   :climber:
