Just arrived this morning, Spirit!

Beautiful object, not handled one before only seen in it photos, and they don't do it justice.  Its an incredibly made bit of kit I'm well chuffed!!!!! Thanks to Felinevet.

Also arrived my Surefire E2D LED Defender, again very nice.  These objects are very tactile I just can't put them down.

I'll post some pics later.

Onyx Cybertool 34

Have fun with the CT34 - you'll be amazed at how great it is to have a bit driver.  I've built PCs, dismantled & reassembled laptops, opened external HDD caddies, etc.  This is the perfect SAK for urban EDC, which is why I've carried mine for over a decade.

Saturday means flea market. So... I have to set myself a ration. One twenty dollar bill.

So... I find a Tinker Small, and nylon scaled Sportsman that needs some pretty serious cleaning. Both are missing toothpicks, both have pocket wear and have been sharpened, but the Tink actually came with a metal capped tweezer about the right length for an 58mm but had a 84/91mm profile.

I also found a Salesman. Relatively late specimen, as the philips has the round rather than half-round profile with the file.

Still have three bucks.

Computer work is exactly what I got this for.  I have gotten by with an Explorer and its phillips bit but had to get a screw out of a bracket in a Dell last week and just didn't quite have enough room to get to it...had been eyeballing that one for a while so after that I made my decision...plus its a rare scale color for that model.

I believe that everybody that does computer work should own a Cybertool (that's the sort of thing that Victorinox made them for) so it is about time you got one :pok:, better late then never though.
I used to carry a tool bag, but now I just have my Cybertool 34 and my SwissTool X - between them I have pretty much all the tools I need.

My Cybertool 34 is probably all I really need in a SAK, but my One Handed Trekker (non-serrated) and my Explorer should be here before the end of the week.

Very nice!

I'd have to have hex or torx screwheads though, to make it just right.

Man that really is a beauty.... and you have a point about old-screws for old-knife... that means hex not torx.... ha ha...   Seriously though I can understand the use of the standard screw heads now... nice idea.... he sure has a good sense of style.

Nice pictures!!   I've been eating a lot of ice cream this year already.

Hey it looks like all those Purple/Violet Pioneers are gone... I think more people should be posting pictures.

Sid,

What do you use to polish the scales?
I have a buffing wheel but it seems a bit harsh, I think I would 'burn' the scales?  :-\

if the scales are very scratched you need to sand them first  i used 240 - 400 - 1000 grit with a lot of water, then use a buffing wheel on a drill, i think is made of cotton, and white polishing compound, to finish i use a smal buffing wheel of  dremel, use the one that looks like several layers of cloth at the lowest speed, not the compact synthetic ones, those will melt the scales, try first on some old scales.  :salute:

Be VERY carefull using a Dremel tool to polish scales.   I ruined the scales on my 1988 Swiss Champ black scales.....I polished on lowest setting on the Dremel and it melted in "dents" into the scales.

I recommend you do it by hand.

I use a buffing wheel and green polish. It's mounted on my bench grinder although it has a speed control on it and I use the slowest speed and go very slow.
