For about $40; I have this lot of old tools. Probably overpaid.....

There is (what appears to be most of) what appears to be an SK Tools socket set from the late 1950s (to be completed if anything is missing and put in my main tool chest, as I already have a kit made with a Blackhawk ratchet and about a half-dozen brands of sockets I use regularly), a set of KD USA ratcheting wrenches (can always use those), some assorted Craftsman wrenches (unsure of era), Craftsman Vise Grips (always misplacing my regular ones--these will go in my truck), a Plomb  (which later became Proto) breaker bar, a Montgomery Ward/Master 1/4 breaker bar and extension, Utica Pliers (bent and cutter--to go into my computer repair kit if not worn out), and a Craftsman 1/4 ratchet.

Plus, there's probably a bunch of sockets in the box that don't belong.

Looks like you got a deal to me.  Around a $1 each if you count separate pieces.  Most SK sockets go for $5+ on that auction site.   :tu:

And everything is perfectly usable. I'll try to post some photos up tomorrow in the Hand Tools forum. The socket set is made up of SK, SK Wayne, Speed Master by Montgomery Ward, and Craftsman, as well as one Snap-On 5/8 deep well. The T-handle wrench is a Williams 1/2. The Utica snap ring pliers are still usable, but the cutters are shot. Those Craftsman Vise-Grips were never used. Heck, there was even dried-up factory oil on the screw. I saved the jeweler's screwdriver set, as I think they're still making them, and that way, I have the bits in this set as spares because I know I will lose one. Looks like someone used them, and then forgot to put the handle and whatever bit he used back in the pouch.

I got one of those earlier this year when DLT Trading was clearing them out for $60. It's my go-to these days. It isn't that heavy, but I get more tool selection than my Leatherman Bond or Rebar (well, aside from the fact it has no PE blade, but I carry a folder or traditional knife anyway).
That's definitely a steal! I'm loving my Spirit since the day I got mine

Nice one!

The story on another forum is that after the Remington bankruptcy, SMKW bought the rights to produce Remington cutlery, sub-licensing it to Blue Ridge Cutlery (a major distributor of knives and tools about an hour and a half from me) who contracted GEC to produce them. I think GEC is about the best that can produce a Rem knife (I have a poor condition original Remington Scout, as well as licensed Camillus, and Bear-made knives in my collection, BTW), in my opinion.

The only thing I don't want to see is Rough Ryder Remingtons, much like SMKW did when they got the rights to Queen.

Well, I was searching the web last night and somehow I came across one of my fav patches, I bought one of these waaaay back but it was stitch, and then I found these in pvc like last year and was like OMG, and of course there like 3x the price, but I had to have one for my hat,
Anyway last night I came across the same guy I bought mine from and he’s selling them dirt cheap, I originally bought my one for like $6 plus shipping, well, he’s now selling them for $2 a piece or 5 for $8, plus shipping I’m like holy crap I’d be getting literally a discount on one plus 3 free, so I just had to get the Mrs to approve which didn’t take much, but I also got the guy to switch things up cause you get 5 of one, but I asked if I could get 2 of the two and just one of the odd ball, and he’s like sure, so that’s what’s on its way!
I like them cause it splits the line and does both red and blue rather then always one, and of course the punisher!

I'm not quite getting along with my ESEE Izula II, primarily because I don't care for the Kydex sheath, so I thought I'd try the similarly sized JG3 that comes with a leather sheath.  Here's the seller's photo.  It looks barely used if at all and comes with the box and everything that's supposed to be in the box as far as I could tell.  Seller claimed it was an open box used as a dealer sample.  I saved about $30 off the regular price. :D

ASP Advocate. I needed a small knife with scissors for the SAK-alike Challenge that was not made by Vic or Wenger. I quit counting my Classic SDs about a year ago (close to ten around here now), and the SAK-alikes with scissors I own all feature quite awful scissors. Besides, I'd been wanting to buy this model for almost 4 years now.

Schrade made the DL-2, which was much like a Classic SD, and produced it for Camillus as well. Schrade also had a German Classic clone in the Century series. But, the Advocate is unique in that it adds a fully serrated (and locking!) blade to that of what is basically a Rambler. Since ASP mostly produces stuff for law enforcement, most of the models I found on eBay and other places had cuff keys. Seems ASP themselves are the only ones that sell the Advocate.

ASP finally fixed the shipping to something halfway decent. Their cheapest option was $8, as opposed to $14 3 years ago. That is, in part, why I finally pulled the trigger.

Thats got a nice shape to it.  Maybe you can make a leather sheath or buy one for your Izula?  I don't mind non leather sheaths so long as they make sense.  I mostly have leather tho.

Klein Tools Japan 44002 3 1/2" Lockback.

I don't know if Klein is discontinuing this model or not, but there are currently several established sellers on Amazon offering these for $10 with Prime free shipping. I was on there looking for the bigger model (40003); and noticed that price.

Because these are some of the sharpest knives one can buy, of exquisite quality (made by Moki, one of the finest cutlery companies in Japan), and well made in Japan; I bought four, keeping one and giving the rest away as gifts. May buy some more, as I feel they're great for the $30 they normally are; and you're stealing them at $10. You have an excellent basic EDC for a cost LESS than a Classic SD, and a better choice for those who prefer a larger knife. Heck, it's rare I carry a Classic SD as standalone when I'm not in lightweight shorts or sweatpants.

Linesman's pliers and MTs can usually cut rebar binding wire without a problem. When I do fencing, I usually will have both on me, plus a hammer, folding saw fencing pliers, 420 Channellock pliers, and a T-Post clip tool in a small shoulder bag. The problem is that most fencing will wear out the cutters of MTs (which is why Leatherman models are my main choice these days; esp. ST300 and Rebar) and linesman's pliers easily, and ding those with softer cutters. Fencing pliers don't handle the heavier stuff like bull panels and steeples (when they don't come out). For most fence work, I was taught to use bolt cutters. Heavy, and since they're the cheap store brand, crap. Not to mention bulky and big.  I had looked at these exact pliers at Southern States (regional farm supply chain mostly found in Virginia, even though through various buyouts, they have stores all over the East Coast), and they were nearly $100. KC Tool Co wasn't much cheaper. However, they were the ideal solution. At 8 inches, they easily fit in the pliers pocket of my jeans or the fencing toolbag.  The specs say that they will cut up to 4mm piano wire, and 5.2mm everything else. That will cover all fencing (including bull panels, which are a nightmare for even the bolt cutters), screws, nails, steeples, most smaller chains, and steel/brass rods.

Knipex 71-01-200-R 8" Cobolt Fencing Compact Bolt Cutters - Plastic Grip

I was looking at the belt pouches for the smaller Knipex pliers, and it just so happened the exact model I wanted was the Tool of the Day today at KC Tool Co, and I finally picked up a pair as they were on sale for $50--half Southern States' price. Thus, I finally bought a pair. However, they won't ship until the 15th due to being back-ordered. I waited almost three years until I could afford them (KC Tool has had them long before I saw them in Southern States). Still a lot of dough, but the time and aggravation they will save me is more than worth that.

They come in diff sizes, like that armer will be 4.5"L x 2.1"W x 2"H (11.43 x 5.33 x 5.08 cm) but then they have their iconx ones, where I did the dead pool model which was 3"L x 1.6"W x 5.9"H (7.62 x 4.06 x 14.99 cm)
As far as assembling them yes, they come as a flat sheet and you have to snip out each piece then form them to fit each of them together, they all have little tabs and little slots, and you have to fit the tab into the slot and either twist it or fold it,,
Here’s a pic of the armor to give you an idea,

I guess I forgot to put in the pics, but yes there from the same company, they started off just plain metal but they started adding color to specific ones to make their special sets grow, like here the Kawasaki ninja was a top hit with just those couple pieces of green, yet that’s their new design,,
But here’s also how you take the flat sheet an work it,,
