Wow, read the brochure. The leather sheath looks awesome too....full flap to protect the knife. I will get one because...my Bushcraft Black has done a fantastic job of sitting untouched in my bag and this one looks like it's definitely up to the task!

Im happy to help!
The leather sheath looks great.
Im a bit on the fence about the price.
At $110 usd we are in fallkniven f1 territory. Wich you also can get with a leather sheath with a flap. And fallkniven F1 is one hell of a knife. The Garberg has to be extremely good to compete with that.
Hopefully the price will be lower in the stores.

My thoughts exactly.  The price has put it up against some excellent and well established knives.  I might have thought about spending $50 on one, but at $100 I'd be doing a lot of shopping around looking at other knives.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

I think it will be, esp online. At say, $75 that only about 20 bucks higher than a Bushcraft Black and I bet the synthetic sheath will be cheaper still. I like the field friendly grind on the Mora better...not a huge convex fan.

Time will show.
At $60 I would definitly get one. They might actually be cheaper over here.

That's a cracking looking sheath as well mate. :tu:
Ta- It's a bit OTT for the knife but it's a step up from the plastic sheath.

Handsome sheath for sure!!!  :tu:

I was just thinking that myself :tu:

Dang, both the sheaths are cool!!!!

They are.
They have been really thinking outside the box with this one. Very unlike Mora really, that has been producing very similiar looking knives and sheaths for decades.
I am a bit sceptical of the removable belt loop on the plastic sheath though. If you fall, you could loose knife and sheath, if it does not sit properly. But I havent seen one in person, so I might be wrong.

You're right! It looks to be a sturdy minimalist sheath but that would have to checked out. An easy fix but who wants to have to fiddle with a $100 knife right out of the box!

.....it will be mine!  :salute:

.....So it won't be mine......not at that price!
That would mean 1700 of my dollars, which is just too much!

To give you an idea, that's N$500 more than the Cudeman bowie in my avatar pic!

Hmmm. Overall I like what I'm seeing so far.

I'm not sure I like the knife's belly, I'd need to try it out. At that price (probably 130€ here) that's a lot of bread for me even if I consider a good knife as an investement, especially if there's a possibility I won't like the knife's belly.

Regarding the sheaths, the MOLLE-compatible thing is cool but not necessary for me. I'm skeptical about the removable belt loop, too. Leather sheaths are good and cool BUT they rot and decay and can cause rust. I love natural materials and usually I prefer them but for some things man-made materials work better. (Take that, Morakiv's brochure text :D)

More info and discussion of the Mora Garberg by Dave Canterbury:

Beeing Dave he digress a bit into fire making at the start, but he soon gets to the knife and a lot more info on the modular sheath. That modular sheath is growing on me. :)

He also mention that there are several new Mora knives in the pipeline :) :) :) :tu:

Based on what he said in the first vid, I think if it was carbon steel and an inch longer, he might use it exclusively. ;) He pretty much laid out what he wanted it to be.

Yes. Exept he has his own knife brand PKS:)
That beeing said, I wont be surprised if a slightly bigger carbon steel one will arrive in the future. :)

There's a new video on his channel, watched it this morning.

Tough for a carbon steel fan to sell a SS knife.......but he tries to explain.

Since I will pay MSRP most likely I won't buy this knife, but other than that, how wrong can Mora get it?

This old classic recently landed in my mailbox.
Its a KJ mora. The old type with a wider, thicker blade with the tang riveted at the top. The blade also has a 90 degree spine. The sheath has the leather belt loop. The edge is also in good shape with some minor nicks.

I was planning on picking up a different model since I do not have a mora but I think I'll wait to see what the cost works out to. I like the idea of full tang and stainless blade steel myself.

Now I wonder how long till they hit the stores.
