today was the LPI (Linux Professional Institute) Linux essentials test.

test score range is 200 - 800 with 500 being a passing score (not 50% as it seems, they are secretive about how the tests are scored)

I got a 690, and out of 12 of us who took it, only 5 passed.

on to the next section, which we started as soon as our test was over Cisco CCENT

I feel pretty confident for this test, however, I have invested SOO much time, and I even bought a Used Cisco Router and Switch to goof off with at home.

I am ready to get past this section and move on to the next.

on an unrelated note

I have spent a LOT less on shinny stuff since I have been buried in my studies.

thanks everyone! it is funny how most of the students in this program are trying to skate by on the minimum, rather stupid if you ask me.

why risk it? the last thing I want to do is fail out of this program.

For many years I thought about getting a CCNA... and had I actually done so I just got passed a pretty awesome job that's coming up at a university in the UK (a friend of mine already works there...)

Sadly I've been hesitant to take any courses as I feel it would narrow my focus of jobs which aren't that hot to begin with.

Awesome that you are doing so well, and I agree about the just scraping by remark, my first semester at Devry I had a 3.72/4 GPA and it felt great...
