Had a nice conversation with a TSA agent today.

Here's the short of it:

Bladeless Leatherman tools are recommended.

I wonder if this recommendation is referring only to the PS Style or also the LM Knifeless Rebar, because the Rebar still has a saw which I would think would not be allowed.

Good use.  My small blade seems to get a lot of those jobs that you know are just going to dull the knife.

Day: 04  (bonus material)

Well...my day isn't going exactly as planned.....

....but I think dinner is starting to look pretty good..

I'm surprised to find that my SAK can opener skills are a bit rusty.....I guess I bet start eating more!

Days like that reminded me of a quote that is frequently paraphrased in the military by Helmuth von Moltke:

“No plan of operations extends with any certainty beyond the first contact with the main hostile force.”

Better known as: No plan survives contact with the enemy

I, too, love a good radish. Especially with a little salt. Mrs Nix, however, does not. I've found that men are more likely to like radishes more than women.

I don't understand this observation. Anyone else see this? Or is my sample size too small to be making generalization?
You are likely spot on, with exception my wife likes radishes chopped into potato salad.

Yet, I have read MAN is the only mammal on the planet that eats radishes.

I would have to disagree,  I have 5 dogs and they get almost as excited about the radishes as they do chicken.  If your not carefull you could give up a finger with either one.

Even did some research and found that in moderation radishes are good for their digestive tract and cleaning their teeth...

Dogs are weird, they even eat poop.

I did read about radishes and from experience, we had about a 1/2 acre tilled with radishes, not a squirrel, chipmunk, gopher, woodchuck/groundhog, skunk, possum, or even rats and mice touched those vegetables.  But, boy oh boy on Saturday at farmer market the hippie types would buy several batches each, along with sweet corn and tomatoes.

A good cash crop in early through late August back in my teens.  60s

Thanks Nix.

These radish type conversations are always interesting.  Get to learn so much about other areas and customes.  They create a unique little window on the world that few see.

My apologies Douglas, I did not intend to insult you or your dogs.

Thinking about it , my dogs would eat anything offered to them, even Brussels sprouts, if dropped on the floor by kids accidentally at supper time.

But, my dogs always had the worst case of gas till the next day., We had three English Cockers, Anytime eating vegetables.

Bully sticks were best for teeth, but not for their breath!

Radishes were a good cash crop me, 10 to a bunch, wash and tied would get me 10 cents in the early 60s. A good Saturday netted usual $30. With tomatoes, corn, and other veggies, $100 would mean we would have roast bef, or steak on Sunday.

Day 4

We have had a really stormy day with lots of thunder and lightning, so the dog did not get his normal walk.  I felt a little bad for him.  So during my grocery trip, I got him a toy and a chew treat.  He actually found the toy and got it out of the bag, leaving the treat in the bag.  The Explorer helped me liberate the new toy from its package, before opening a beer.

As far as the dogs eating anything, you have not met my dog.  He will turn his nose up at lots of foods including some that dogs supposedly like (peanut butter, pumpkin, yougurt, and many more).  I have even seen him turn his nose up at some of the trats the Vet and pet stores offer him.  When he was a puppy, the trainer was shocked at how little he was motivated by treats. Now chicken, cheese, or okra get his single focus.  As far as treats bullies and himalayans are his favorite.

My little guy eats just about anything. Except celery. Not a fan of celery.

But I can't remember if I've tried him on radishes.....   Might be something to test out.

L.C.  ABSOLUTLY no insult was taken on this end.  It does amaze me the things dogs will eat, most are not all that selective.  I truely do love and find these talks some of the most interesting things to come out of many of the challenges I've been involved in.  They broaden my view of the world by transporting me to places and times I could never reach on my own.  The experiances and openions of ALL of YOU are of great value to the me.  I may not always agree, but I CAN and DO RESPECT and LEARN from them.  This is one of the things that keeps me coming back.  I love getting in on the GAWs seeing and being part of the RAKs (on both sides of the fence), but it is the unique experiances from those all over the globe kindly shared that is the TRUE GEM of this place we call MTo.

So the short and sweet of it THANKS L.C. for your sharing a little of your life experiance. :hatsoff:

Day 4. Used the hook to remove gravels from the car tires (washed it today), and several small cutting jobs with the scissors.

Day 4

Today cut some onion and garlic to make some beans. Opened a Tritip cryovac and cut a chicken in half.

My Explorer did not have a package hook so I had to use the inline screwdriver.

That's rather creative use of the hook, I probably would have used the flathead(pry tool) to do that.  Sweet use!
