Mine is hard cover copyright 1999. Not sure if it’s still in print.
Front and back covers and index for reference.

No they aren’t especially if they have to be got 2nd hand because of being out of print.
These aren’t too bad compared to the last book I bought for the US &Allied Military knives reference.
600+ pages colour photos.

DAY 28

Continuing the military theme from yesterday here is another of my Fairbairn Sykes British Commando daggers. You May remember earlier in the month I posted a photo of my Wilkinson Sword dagger , well this one isn’t a Wilkinson made one and it could be any one of a few makers as they stopped putting manufacturers names and marks on them as they didn’t want this info going to the enemy if they were captured.
This example has a machine ground blade and the No. 2  on the handle which proves it was WW2 manufactured. It also has the Broad Arrow and No. 13 on the handle near the guard. This is a nice knife and there’s plenty of these around but this ones a bit more special  :D

On the handle near the pommel is engraved FR693. This is a Admiralty mark that was added post WW2  and re-issued most likely to the Royal Marines or Special Boat Service. The sheath is correctly stamped FR271.
What makes this even more special is that this knife and several similar to it was purchased from the widow of a retired SAS Lt. Colonel and was at some point stored at their base Sterling lines.

Leatherman Wave, I was gifted a PST when I was much younger and used it for many years before discovering the newer model Wave.  Later on Charge was released, and I resisted the upgrade for many years, since I love the slim and elegant aesthetic of Wave.

I think the OG Wave was one of Leatherman’s best multitools

Day 27

Seeing that you mentioned the ZT0562Ti, here is mine.  This is at the larger limit of folders for me but it is a nice knife.  Solid and overbuilt like ZTs are known to be, with nice flipping action and good in the hand.
(Image removed from quote.)

Everytime I see this one from you, I have such impulse to rush over and get one myself.  Still waiting on the right color/theme to emerge, and I am sure I will be getting one no doubt.

Day 27. Benchmade 556 Mini Griptillian, 154CM PE drop point blade, Grivory handles. Pretty much the regular base model Mini Grip until last year? I think it was when they made a change to S30V as their choice base model steel.  This was purchased from a member here close to a year ago for $50. He'd polished the copper bronze washers, and that, coupled with the AXIS Lock, is a knife that is very smooth to use with either hand. Being left-handed, it is one of my few that is set up for left-hand carry, with the other being the Byrd I posted earlier.

154CM is definitely not S30V, but in my use, I've only had to strop it a few times, and run it over the ceramic once.

(Image removed from quote.)
I think the mini-grip is a popular edc in large part to its basic no frills utility.

Sure sounds like a very unique knife from its background, I am curious what is the internal construction inside the handle for this one?  Is it a slim tail thru tang?

Day 28
Today is a Lifu Multitool.  Ot is the most extensive tool, but made decently enough.  One of the things I really liked about this tool was the 1/4 bit adapter and how the case held a few bits.  It rode in my bicycle jersey pocket are wedge pouch on several extend bike rides.

This tool also has a story behind it.  One of my additional duties (in reality a great boondoggle) for about a year in the Navy was a contingency task force for shuttle launches.  I was in Florida for STS-133 and because it was delayed, I had to some spare time and rented a bicycle to go riding.  It was at the bicycle shop that I purchased the Lifu.  What did stink was because of the long delays, when it actually launched, I was on another operation so my alternate got to go.

They do tend to pop up from time to time , it can either mean the knife has been dismantled or the person building the knife re-inserted it to make adjustments. Mine is the latter as all marks are the same and uniform and the pommel is peened correctly
