Not that I know of, except maybe size. As you said it´s the brush that makes the difference.

Fuzzy Wide Open Day 6

Another of my Dad's fixies, this time one that I gave him - a Bob Dozier one. He must've liked it as he pretty much always carried it.

That's a good gift! :tu:

Day 6
A gift from my father.
I have a soft spot for the old Al Mar knives (and Kershaw and Gerber),and this is 1 of the few knives remaining from my father's early collecting days. He's still into knives, but this 1 is special to me since it's 1 of the first ,if not the first, quality production knife I was exposed to
Nice, I remembered Al Mar was pretty popular back in the days, and I have always wanted one way back when.

I don´t have many fixed blades but one of them is that Böker. It´s called the Arkansas Traveler.

That's it!  :tu: I think there's a olive wood version, this one's walnut. What's yours Ron?

Day 6. While not a WWII USN MKI Deck Knife, this particular Camillus was assembled post-war, from parts left over. Steel guard, leather handle, Bakelite pommel held in with spanner nut.  I paid just over $10 shipped for it on eBay in March of last year. It's obviously seen better days. I had laid it out for last month's SOldier challenge, but never used it.

I was doing some cleaning to the furniture and put the freshly sharpened knife to work cutting up this worn out T-Shirt to make cleaning cloths. Might look like crap, but it still works fine. I think this knife has been upgraded from the "Wait, why did I buy this piece of junk" box to the user pile.

Day 6

Postie has just called, so my much abused Leatherman Signal (I used it non-stop for 18 months when working with a plumber/heating engineer a couple of years back - the fixes it got me out of are too many to relate!) does the honours - more toys for my air rifle, but testing the chrono out will have to wait for another day as it’s raining which the garden sorely needs!

 :woohoo:

So you like the Signal  :tu:

Nice, I remembered Al Mar was pretty popular back in the days, and I have always wanted one way back when.
When I got older,I realized that Al Mar was ahead of his time.
I really dig the original designs.
I had an engraved Fang, which I stupidly sold, some years back.
It was the mini, forget if it's the 1 or 2.
Scales were yellow micarta. I've heard that those were ivory micarta that yellowed over time.

DAY 5
One of the setups I might throw on my pack when headed out on dual sport bikes.   This one is a Tops/Buck CSAR-T, with a SOG Twitch II, and a Leatherman Rebar.
The CSAR-T fixie looks awesome! :like:

Day 6: Another knife that I've had for a while.  Got this some time in the early 80's.  I think I really wanted a 112, the Buck 110 is really too big for pocket carry (hence the belt sheath).  But it's too iconic not to have in my humble collection.

I looked it up, nice boot knife and too bad it was sold.

I am sure I am not the only whenever Buck is mentioned, the first picture pop into head is the 110.  True classic that stands the test of time.

Day 06 (D-day remembrance day):

SOS inspired me to carry my Osbourne 940 today. I can't say enough good things about this knife. I've had it since the 2000 (Had a pre-production model before that!). I've found this to be one of the easiest to carry, and yet, most useful knives I've ever had. A true EDC, but with the ability to be a brilliant fishing/hiking/camping knife. This one was made with a 154CM blade, the new models have an S30V blade. The change in steel wasn't really necessary in my opinion. This is a 20 year-old user with many a mile behind it. The finish on the scales is a bit worn in the high spots, but the blade is in excellent shape and hair-shaving sharp.  :tu:

Cold Steel Pocket Bushman

I have one of those, and its a fun and interesting knife, but for me the lock is very difficult - and dangerous - to disengage.  For those who don't know, you have to pull the lanyard very hard in the opposite direction from the blade.  This leaves your weak hand holding the knife while trying to return the blade to its resting place.  Low margin of error.  At least that's my take on it.

I missed the start of this unique challenge.

Some nice knives and stories shared that I have read so far.

Been busy since Ys were allowed to reopen, getting pools ready and water balanced for guest to enjoy starting today.  A month’s worth of work in 12 days...
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Not sure. It's definitely walnut, and it does indeed look like black walnut, but not sure if it's that particular species. Would be good to know though.  :salute:
