Hi people  :waving:

I arrived back from sunny  :dunno:  Wales today. I have been absent for a few days whilst I dealt with a family bereavement.

It wasn't unexpected but still not good news losing a parent just before Christmas, and the COVID stuff doesn't help with arrangements.

Thank you "awl" for your messages of support and condolences (too many to mention) This is the reason why this site is better than all the others (it's the generosity of "spirit" of "awl" of you)  :tu:

It didn't feel right to take shots in the circumstances so I will continue to post pics of an appropriate SAK (only got two 111's  ::) ) starting again tomorrow (13th) and then run over for the days I've missed, if that's okay with you  :dunno:

Once again; thank you "awl"  :salute:
Welcome back and so sorry you are having to go through all of that.

Day 12

Back to the Outrider with my favorite glow bead lanyard:
(Image removed from quote.)
That is a cool lanyard bead.  I also like the bear(?) charm.

Day 12 bonus entry as the mail came late.
Ordered this Soldier with black blades, stamped 19 on the tang. :tu:
(Image removed from quote.)
I remembered when it first came out, it was rather expensive, and am glad to see as this it is now easier to get with probably a less expensive price too. :tu:

Day 13

Outrider scissors used to remove tag on Knipex Cobra XS, even smaller than I thought they’d be…a common reaction from all the commentary on MTo, but even expecting it they’re still smaller  :dunno:

Going to be part of my new portable tool kit when don’t want to carry full size pliers based MT. Shown with outrider being the 111 challenge but more likely to be teamed up with a 91mm Ranger

(Image removed from quote.)
(Image removed from quote.)
Still need to find one sometime, and next to a 111mm, it looks tiny! :o

Day 12: Bonus

Cutting my sandwich with the Hercules...

(Image removed from quote.)

What I like about the 111mm blade is for food use, the long blade is really convenient. :like:

Day 13

Bit more of the chicken grilling life for me

Day 13:
Breakfast was slightly different from normal - wife needed to leave for business trip early this morning and with the heavy wind and snow of past 1,5 days she needed me to get her wheels into main road:
(Image removed from quote.)

Some care was needed to get out from yard and home street (in picture) to main road:
(Image removed from quote.)

Drifts maybe 75 cm at highest, but in left side no more than 10 - 15 cm of snow. So, some care required, but I must say that the Kadjar handled itself well and for the 1st time I was impressed by it’s driving qualities. Her other choice would’ve been an old C-klasse (much more relaxed and stable at highway speeds) and frankly I would’ve had a spot of bother to pull that one out from yard and thru the above.

Wow, under the light, it looks almost like a sand dune! :ahhh

Day 13

Nothing glamorous but I used the 111mm blade for opening packages.

For SAK models without small blade, I am wondering if anyone will use the awl or can opener for package duty, so to keep the 'food' blade clean?

Great uses and photos everyone!

Day 13

More post duty for the Rescue Tool, but this time I used the belt cutter to free a tube of grease from its packaging - I have loads of grease with my cycle tools etc in the garage, but this is nice and small and can sit in the gun box. Once again, the luminous yellow handles and piping on the sheath brighten up another gloomy day!

Great photos and uses all.

Day 12

Used the Outrider today to open some mail and trim a bag of chips.  I also used the awl to remove plastic from a new 4 pack of batteries for a flashlight.

I use the awl for non food cutting whenever possible.

Thank you, yes, bear.  It was on a necklace, but it's so small it works better as a charm.  :tu:
