Day 19

For lack of other uses today, pressed the elevator button with the can opener so as not having to touch it. Covid times
Funny you'd mention that, for whatever reason, I always think every other covid EDC tool I have seen always loosely resembled a 91mm SAK hook...

Day 19
Today I rescued some Italian sausages from their vacuum sealed packaging.

Day 19

More than putting it to good use, today I fidgeted with the Trekker.  I wish I discovered this SAK a lot sooner.

I almost got one when I was around 12 if I recall correctly.  I was a conniving young lad.  I was looking for a second knife, and my parents were willing to get me something more sturdy than my Tinker for the Scouts.  I had convinced them to get me something - and they said they would.  We went shopping for a full set of camping equipment, and a new knife was on the list.  I seem to remember trying to convince them that a serrated Trekker wasn't too far off of the Tinker they already trusted me with.  They agreed, and then changed their mind at the last minute - I'm sure that was by design to keep me quiet.  I ended up getting a "Buck" knockoff a couple of years later.

Sometimes it doesn't help much to wait until you have the means to get something.  I also wanted to do wild and crazy things with my hair as a teenager and wasn't allowed. "Someday", I said to myself... I'd get to do whatever I wanted.  Now that I can do whatever I want, I'm completely bald. and using Vic scissors to trim my ear hairs before business meetings.
C'est la vie.  In retrospect, maybe if you'd get the Trekker way back when, it would have cured you from the addiction and you may or may not be here today telling us this story?  :)

DAY 19

Not much real action for the OHT as it's been a work day (and I only got in about 22:30  ::) )

Still, I used the awl to make a hole in the seal of some hand cream. I could have just peeled it off but where's the fun in that  :dunno:

These bl**dy latex gloves are driving me insane (over 30 pairs used today  ) I know they're necessary but it's ruining my baby soft skin
Hmmm...do you think baby powder would work to reduce the fiction of those gloves?(No, not kidding, I bet it may work...)

Day 20

My Strongarm came! :mail:
(Image removed from quote.)
Pretty cool!  I remembered many were disappointed with the Gerber bear Grylls survival knife, but this surely is a sturdy knife.

Day 20.

Used the Dual Pro X (which mostly, stays in my work coat) to free a Matchbox model from the playset packaging. I bought the set for a display. It connects to a fire station, which I'm buying soon.

111mm Day 20 1 by cody6268, on Flickr

Here's what it looks like setup with the included models. MBX tends to use the cheapest toolings they have, usually generic/fantasy vehicles, often very lightweight toolings that are mostly plastic.

Matchbox Action Drivers Hospital 1 by cody6268, on Flickr

I ditched the rubbish generic ambulance and plastic helicopter (with the skid/clamp piece that looks horribly unrealistic) for a (mostly metal) for quality pieces from SIKU, a 1:87 Mercedes Sprinter and Eurocopter EC-145 from the UK Rescue Service set.  The BMW X5 Notarzt is a Matchbox, a German exclusive if I'm not mistaken. I have to clear off the shelf where it's going to stay. Until then, it's stuck here.

Then I opened up the midday snack, with my Master.

111mm Day 20 2 by cody6268, on Flickr

Then the nighttime snack.

I have sensed our unofficial forum food has switched from bacon in 2020 to cheese and sausage in 2021  ...this is the second pix of sausage in past page or two.  :D

Thanks Rizio and Sos :tu:

Believe me Sos Coco does pretty well, (and deservedly so), she even has her own well stocked treat cupboard :) with something like 10 different treats which she gets every day …you’d think she was wearing a watch, always knows when the next one is due

All this cheese and sausage is making me hungry!

Day 20

Mr Garant helps out with lunch by slicing some cucumber to accompany the last of the Brie - it really is quite tangy and runny now, so much so it’s melting into the toast (not shown out of courtesy to the squeamish!).

"Hmmm...do you think baby powder would work to reduce the fiction of those gloves?" (No, not kidding, I bet it may work...)

Unfortunately, we MUST use powder free gloves (contamination issues, drugs) for evidential purposes

We used to have powdered gloves before but, due to the above issue, they were done away with  ::)

I have to take back my earlier comment of it looking 'sturdy'.  I just read the other thread from RP, sorry to see this happen and hopefully you can get the money back.

In reality, not everyday can be a cool use.  Just another package opening.  I just wish it was as exciting or delectable as a Matchbox or Sausage  :).  Just a pen.

I was hoping for a bit of use from the RescueTool today, but took this with my morning coffee (just in case)

This proved to be a good idea as there was no use, at all  ::)

Seems appropriate with the SAR mug  :dunno:
