Day 17

Evolution 10 in my pocket this afternoon while I do some reading. I used it to cut some twine off a bale of hay and opened a can of peaches for lunch. S52 had goose cleaning duty this morning and is drying after a good cleaning.

Great pictures today!

For the last 18 months since the fires I’ve made a point of stopping at the exact same place and climbing a rock up to this spot so I can record the recovery of the bush. It’s getting better, there’s some canopy now for the first time

Fabulous views!   :ahhh

Day 17:

A bit of yard work today....

And a bit of dinner prep. This is the other half of the onion I cut up a couple days ago.   :)

I do like having the longer blade to use.   :tu:

Carried my S17 in my pocket all day.  No particular use today, other than reaching down into my pocket to admire it once in a while.  :like:
I got my Evolution S17 a new friend, the Huntsman this weekend.  They have much in common.  The locking blade makes the S17 indispensable for me though.

They both pack quite the punch in functionality as an EDC for both the urban and outdoors.  Both are great SAK options!

I don't know, these SAKs have a tendency to multiply, and I have a feeling the new Huntsman won't be the last of em!   :climber:

My collection so far on the bottom photo.  From the top, Huntsman, S17, Compact, Swiss Champ, Recruit.

Wenger Zermatt.  I got it because the few Wenger only tools displayed here: carabiner, clip point blade, non-sharpen awl, Wenger can opener, nail file, and funkiest yet--the duplicate of inline philips vs backside phillips.

Great toolset indeed. If only it had the in-line awl as well. :like:

Day 17: no use.

I often complain about how cheaply made mainline Matchbox are today, while they go all-out with $25 collector's editions; and there is a Gucci edition HW Cadillac Seville now for $125!!!!.  Aside from new toolings, the mainline is highly ignored.

These were from a 1999 5-pack; and I bought them from a collector on another forum who bought them for the Jeep XJ CHerokee and Ford LTD Taxi. The tank on the Peterbilt is chromed, and it has a lot of tampo work. The Ikarus Coach is a heavy block of Zamac. The Ford Cargo is far more than "four parts" (which is all that is allowed for new toolings today) which allows for a very smoothly operation scissors lift mechanism

Day 17

Had some good use in the garden today.
No photos from today, but here's one from lunchtime yesterday.

Yum, looks a lot like my daily breakfast.....vegemite toast with avo and tomato, add a boiled egg every few days, bliss  :tu:

Wow, that is beautiful country!  :tu:

Whittled a little spear point with the Evolution S17 today.
Nice sharp blade makes the task effortless.  Easily sliced away the many branch and knots to carve away a relatively smooth straight spear.

Good use Max, a good way to pass the time  :like:  :tu:

Day 17, Carved a little bear this morning, ok slight exaggeration.

Now that'd be some whittlin'  :like:

Day 17
I had my evogrip 18 with me out in the garage. It’s a great knife - but needed to pull out my Leatherman wave when I needed a file for my PVC trim.
Rizio inspired me to get out my watch openers. I love the old alox, and I really like the crossbow tang stamps. Turns out only one is a Wenger. There are a couple of secretaries (I think) in there, too, along with their slightly larger cousin!

Day 18
October 18

Doing some clean up downstairs. Used the Vic Evo 28 to cut tape so I could flatten the boxes.

….For the record, it’s only now that I realized that the Wenger (not Vic) can opener is HUGE compared to say, a Rebar can opener.

I prefer not to read reference books like that.  It's not that I don't like them.  It's because they always tend to end up with me spending  lots of money.

Day 17
I didn't initially realize that my Swiss Sportsman came with the toothpick and tweezers.  They were there, but they were jammed under the scales because they barely have ends to them that you can feel with a thumbnail and certainly not enough to keep them in place and easily accessible.  I was able to get the tweezers out with a knife blade, but the toothpick was jammed so far under the scale that I had to lift the end of the scale to get it out.  I won't be putting these back in because I worry they'll get wedged in again.
