Day 40 of 60 (2/3'rds completed!):

Woke up this morning and "found" this SAK in my pocket. I was really happy to find it there. My first thought of the morning was, "what a great SAK!" Naturally my next thought was, "I need coffee...."

Day 40

Cast some new bullets for the old 38-55. Time to work up some loads. Swisschamp ready to help. Universal scaler measurements say this load looks promising! Now to verify and do some sight adjustment. Deer season is getting closer.

Great pics awl!

Day 40

Don't know if I'll wake up with this one in my pocket  :o  but it's weekend tomorrow (we'll, almost), so thought I'd step it up for a few days  :pok:

Day 40 of 60

Used small blade today to dissamble scale out of old Climber, so i could cannibalize scissors to my Wave. I could say i wouldnt do that 2nd time without much better tools. It was pain to drill pivot hole larger on scissors.

Day 40/60

I got recently a Swisschamp with busted scales. Change time! The can opener removed the old scales. I salvaged also the metal inlay from the old scale.

Day 40/60
Took the chance for a quick after work trip to a nearby lake. The missus wanted to take the kayak as well while I just wanted to have a relaxing picknic  :dunno:

Mmmmm... Jaffa cakes...

I got addicted to those during business trips to London. Fortunately, I can get them here in the US at a British foods store in town.

Jaffa Cakes. The only thing that beats them in my world are Arnotts Tim Tams. But they are tools for different purposes really

Day 40/60

A bit of packaging release. To be honest there’s been an absence of fruit juice cartons in these parts so I was very happy to snaffle a four pack on my grocery shop today.

I am inclined to think at this rate it’ll be roast SPAM for Christmas lunch with one of Nix’s special recipes….

Maybe the idea of a holiday edition GSMRE was a cunning ploy by Nix to ensure that those of us with unreliable supply chains will have enough calories to nap on Christmas Day?

Does this mean we all need twig stoves for the prep  :ahhh

And great going guys! Can't believe you're all still chugging along, great going!

And very happy to see a lever action pop up in here too  :dd:

Only if they can find it. Sells out quick during the holidays. Word to the wise......

I'm not going to say that's a character flaw or defect, but it would be a shame to go through this life without trying the tinned meat that won the war. ( Unless you are a vegetarian, in which case you might end up becoming a carnivore....or spamivore....if that's a thing.  :dunno: )

Day 40 of 60 ( bonus can mutilation shot ):

I tried Felix's technique for continuous can opening, but it didn't work for me. Tough can? Weak operator? Poor technique?  ( I didn't use a glove, so may not have fully committed to the procedure. )

What are Refritos?  :pok:

Refried beans.

Which aren't really fried. ....or re-fried.

Apparently, in Spanish, frijoles refritos means "well cooked beans". So they are beans that are cooked until very, very soft, even creamy.

I think the British equivalent is Mashy Peas. Although refritos have good stuff in them like onions, garlic, green chiles, cumin, chili powder, herbs, and, if you like, cream. I think your Mashy Peas are just overcooked peas. Yes?
