The SeberTool M3 from SeberTech was an excellent keychain tool, similar to the SwissTech Micro Technician series, but a little more refined.

Featuring full size and mini screwdrivers and a useful set of pliers and wire cutters the SeberTool M3 was a good set of options without a lot of bulk.

The SeberTool M3 name was changed when SeberTech was bought by IDL Tools- you can find out all about SeberTech, SwissTech and IDL on our forum. https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/board,36.0.html

I had an M3 over 20 years ago and loved it :woohoo: (my first post here at MTO even pertained to the M4)

I lost it unfortunately   and replaced it a few years later with the M4/T10 version and luckily still have that one  I wished that Sebertech still made them as the production value went down some when they changed hands ::)

The Delta Spork from Sea to Summit  is the latest addition to my collection of outdoor eating related doodads.

I haven't haduch of a chance to use it yet, but I like the fact that that the serrated knife edge isn't on the side of the fork like on many other sporks.

Keep an eye on our Outdoor Cuisine section for updates on the Delta Spork and lots of other outdoor eating ideas!  https://forum.multitool.org/index.php?board=51.0

I've been  a fan of the Swiss*Tech Micro Technician l8ne since I first laid eyes on it.  The M2 and M3 are basically more refined versions of the Micro Technician, and I instantly fell in love with them too.

They really are a special bit of kit!

Def

I've also got one of those Swiss*Tech mini tools with the fold out mini screwdrivers. Sort of an M3 equivalent. I agree that the SeberTools are nicer.

Another forum shout out again today!

The Brewzer has the distinction of being the smallest Leatherman tool ever produced, and is also not a Leatherman- at least not originally!

In 2012 Leatherman Tool Group purchased another tool manufacturer called PocketToolX and took over all of their designs, which were then produced under the Leatherman brand.

We have a whole forum section devoted to cool Leatherman information just like this!

Another one you may have missed is the Cicada, designed by Dana Bainbridge and Joseph Sundby for Columbia River Knife and Tool (CRKT).

Featuring one of the best bottle openers in the industry, a small LED flashlight, small slip jointed blade and a set of scissors, the Cicada was a really cool concept that unfortunately didn't take off.

Read all about the Cicada in the Multitool Encyclopedia, only at Multitool.org!  https://wiki.multitool.org/tiki-index.php?page=Cicada

When it comes to sorting out model names, Victorinox collectors have their work cut out for them- like when it comes to this Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Yeoman.

The actual Yeoman model is three layers, while this one (more accurately called an Explorer when dressed in standard scales) becomes a BSA Yeoman because of the inlaid Fleur De Lis logo used by the Scouts.

There's lots more name fun to be had, so check out SAKWiki and read all about it! https://sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Explorer

I bought one of the BSA Yeoman (Explorers)  years ago and at the time thought I was buying a real Yeoman  The Explorer is a great model but I wish that Vic had just called it that ::) :D

This is the tip of the iceberg- try and buy a Golfer!   :pok:

My favorite is the BSA Huntsman, which isn't a Huntsman, it's a Fieldmaster, but once it has the BSA logo it becomes a Huntsman again.

They are the same model, with the Huntsman having a corkscrew and the Fieldmaster having a Phillips driver instead.... so naturally Boy Scouts don't need a corkscrew, so they get the Fieldmaster version, which makes sense as they learn fieldcraft.... but hey, let's call it a Huntsman anyway.

The Explorer is a great model, at least for urban carry. The minimum I go with.

(Though I have to admit I've upgraded to an Outdoorsman now that yard work season has started.)

If you are a cigar aficionado then today's Wenger may be a good choice- if you can find one!

This Slimline version of the Cigar Cutter model features brushed stainless handle scales and the cigar cutter, giving it a slick look and feel in addition to its function!

There is also a four layer version that adds scissors, making it even more useful.  Read all about it at SAKWiki! https://sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Cigar+Cutter+85mm

I really like the Explorer, I just don't need the magnifier all that often, so it doesn't get a lot of pocket time.

But that's the great thing about SAKs- everyone likes something different and there's one for everyone!

Most Leatherman keychain models are divided into P (plier) or S (scissor) models, but what do you do if you want both?

The answer is simple- the Squirt PS4!  With the pliers based on the Micra spring mechanism and a set of fold out scissors the PS4 really has you covered, and the textured handles provide better grip than the slick and shiny earlier versions of the Squirt series.

Read all about the PS4 and the whole Squirt family in the Multitool Encyclopedia, only at Multitool.org!  https://wiki.multitool.org/tiki-index.php?page=Squirt+PS4

The Field Ration Eating Device (FRED), also known as the F***ing Ridiculous Eating Device is a military issue combination of P-38 style can and bottle opener and a spoon.

This version, branded by Outbound and sold at Canadian Tire is sold in a pair at very low cost.  I haven't got a lot of miles on these yet, but so far they are holding up!

Another edition of the strange naming conventions is the 111mm Picnicker, also spelled Picknicker, pictured here with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees printed on the scale, and not to he confused with the 91mm Picnicker!

But there's more- this is an older, slide lock version.  At the time this knife was produced there was also a liner locking version called the Nomad, but in 2017 Victorinox discontinued the slide lock option and renamed the Nomad as a Picnicker, even though the Nomad already existed.

To learn more about the various Picnicker versions (and the Nomad!), check out the best Swiss Army Knife resource available- SAKWiki.com!  https://sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Picnicker

A little bit of fun on a Monday- the Hot Wheels Tooligan!

There are several versions of the Tooligan but this is the only one I've gotten- with a measuring tape for a front bumper, crescent wrench for spoiler and body panels, a couple of Phillips screwdrivers on the deck and an actual, functional 1/4" bit driver on the bottom, the Tooligan always makes me smile!

The Charge Ti was Leatherman's first Charge model- a range that has become quite popular, with many different versions such as the XTi, TTi, ALX, AL, SLV and +.

Knowledgeable readers will remind me that the XTi was released and produced at the same time as the Ti, so calling the Ti "the first" may not seem accurate, but the XTi always seems like it was thrown together at the last minute so I believe it came later!

Read all about the Charge family of tools with the Multitool Encyclopedia, only at Multitool.org!  https://wiki.multitool.org/tiki-index.php?page=Charge

The Coast Fishing Buddy is a neat little tool based on Coast's box platform, which is an extremely efficient group of features.

The box itself has a ruler, hook sharpener, diamond file and several wrenches, and inside are a lot more options like scissors, serrated blade, screwdrivers and more- plus they all locking using a similar method to the Utica Kutmaster Multitool.

Read my full review of the Fishing Buddy at Multitool.org! https://multitool.org/tools/miscellaneous/coast-fishing-buddy-review
