I'll show my mini Gladiator soon.
Shouldn't be too hard. There are usually at least a few cheap Spartans on eBay. :tu:

I've never heard "correspondence receptacle" before. :like: Mine can't be easily tossed into a river, as it's a slot cut into the front door.

Another great day, y'awl! And add the Skele to the long list of tools I should try out... :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh
Day 11
Ice Cream Sunday

A slight variation on the photo I posted in the relevant daily thread, mostly because I didn't want the other Alox Bantams to feel too neglected. :)

Day 11: Swisschamp Sunday

Took some time weeding the flower bed and garden today.  There’s so much still cropping up and finding new massive root structures.  The fish scaler is the best tool to push up roots.  Wife used the Outdoorsman.  I already got her an Explorer she uses all the time… maybe it’s time for her own Swisschamp.

Between Gary's stories and the commentary, this is my favorite thread to visit!

Day 11 : See-through Sunday

I was about to post a slightly exhilarating photo of a young maiden until I realized that perhaps I was misunderstanding the assignment in regards to See-through Sunday.  Better play it safe and just post a pic of this boring, slightly dirty, Wenger.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

If Grand Banana wants to start up a Serrated Saturday, I had just as soon support his new thread.  The world will keep on turning without my idea.  Best wishes.  G

I have serrated Spartans, which might make an appearance this weekend.  ;)

I vote to add both.  :D

Day 10 : Spartan Saturday

Strangely enough, I don't have as many Spartan's as I thought I did.  Sounds to me like I need to remedy that.  :D

(Image removed from quote.)

If you were only going to have one, that would be a really good one.

Day 12
Micarta Monday

I wondered when someone would take the see-through part of Transparent Sunday too literally.  Speaking of which, I haven't heard from Dana lately.  Or Demi?  I got used to seeing the digital peep show promises from some dubious pop up on this site.
I got the trail photos from my camera to display on a compooter with the aid of my new SD adapter gleaned from my mailbox yesterday.  Had to use installed Microsoft Clipjoint.... Movie clip.... Video clip....?  Something with the word clip in it.  Worked slowly.  I downloaded VLC from the internet and my compooter choked on it.  Uninstalled it.  Made no difference.  I couldn't get my precious compu-hickey to gee, haw, giddy up, woah, or heel.  Finally I did something or other and after a couple of restarts, brought the trembling sweaty beast back to a tense eye-rolling similitude of calm and control.  Oh, and I got the compooter working too.
Where was I?  Micarta.  I think there is a Micarta Monday, right?  I will check after I post a photo.  Are the words on this post supposed to be yellow?  Eye med time.  Best wishes.  G

Day 12: Minichamp Monday and Oneday Monday

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

The MC sometimes feels as if it has too many different blades on it.  How many small blades do I need?  It is helpful for me for the general tasks kept to each.  The main blade is used for cutting everything except food.  The rescue blade I use for small precise food prep like cutting pits out of cherries for the kids.  The package opener does just that and I’ve scored small lengths of plastic a couple times.  Should also note the pharmaceutical spoon is great for prying apart Velcro tabs, like pictures hung using those things.

I got my wife an Alox MC to pair with her Explorer.  She thinks it’s a bit overkill but ends up using some of the more specialty tools more often than I do.  I think she appreciates the nail file with pointed end over the SD end Vic now uses.

The Alox Solo is also great for food prep.  I’ve used it countless times out and about.

Nice!
Thanks! :hatsoff:

Maybe it’s time for her own Swisschamp.
FTFY. :D Buy her one and see how she likes it! I'm pretty sure Mrs. FX would have found a SwissChamp to be too big.

Boring, slightly dirty, Wenger.
Slightly dirty? Maybe. Boring? Absolutely not!

I think there is a Micarta Monday, right?
There certainly is. And that one looks good! I think it's Kizer? Whomever made it, did they polish the Micarta or leave it rough?

Both it and the Opinel (a No. 4) were part of a trade with BPRoberts. Not only is he a gentleman and a scholar,he's an awl-around cool dude. Thanks for a great trade, my friend, and the other trade items will be seen as the challenge progresses! :hatsoff:

The micarta has been left a little rough.  It has a nice dry feel to it.  Kizer Cabox.  I thought the ring on the end would be uncomfortable and in the way.  Nope.  Best wishes.  G

The micarta has been left a little rough.
That's how I prefer Micarta. It gives you a little bit of additional grip that way.

Day12
Minichamp monday
My edc Minichamp on a necklace with an Olight I1r.

Old style Minichamp, no Philips,/cap lifter, no pen, no light and the origonal 2 piece design for the I1r
The beads and compass are more to keep them sitting right, and since it is parcord I do have a break away clasp.
I used to be a lot of things, and someday will again.
But for now I'm just a lost jack of trades with neither mastery nor home. ~NoaIsumi

Thanks
I have worn a small SAK and keyring light as a necklace since about 2000.
I have gone through Clasics, Ramblers. Enquires, Photon coin lights, Lifegear,  and MicroMaglights

Since there are no small tools on the Trekker the minichamp is handy
And the light is good for just walking around hands free

Owning no micarta, I have gone with...

Day 12 : Minichamp Monday

An original Minchamp as it doesn't have the combo tool nor the pen.  Instead is has both the tweezers and the toothpick.

Day 12: Minichamp Monday

I don't love the pen, and appreciate slimming a bulky knife down a bit, so the Alox version is my Minichamp of choice. Peeler opened a few new lawn/garden tools for yardwork today.

Day 13
Two Layer Tuesday

I was almost certain that I hadn't 'two layered' before and had only 'tinkered' on Tuesday.  Wrong.  I checked out the two layer thread and the first post I found had a byline for IMR4198.  I don't remember doing it, but it must be true.  Presented by the evidence that way, I must conclude that I have 'two layered' on a Tuesday before.
Two layer Spartan with a one layer Schrade hone thingie.  Be careful today.  Tuesday the 13th.  If any black cat threatens to cross your path, remember to turn your cap around and spit backward over your shoulder.  That way the bad luck thinks you are walking the other direction, and you can make your getaway without being hexed.  You could also toss some salt if you have salt in your EDC inventory.  Personally, I never carry salt with me.  No sense in being a wacko.  On second thought, carrying one of those little tear open salt packets could be handy in certain situations.  Maybe even a ketchup pack too.  What would happen if you found some ungarnished french fries or tater tots?  It could happen.  Best wishes.  G

Day 12: Tinker Tuesday! Also happens to be two layer. The A10 Warthog was introduced in 1970, and the m1911a1 was the standard issue pistol until 85 I think, so it atands to reason that an A10 pilot would have carried a 1911 at some point right?

I have one, too. It'll probably make a showing later.

Carrying one of those little tear open salt packets could be handy in certain situations.  Maybe even a ketchup pack too.
Either can salvage a ho-hum meal. They're great to keep in a lunch pail or mess kit!
The m1911a1 was the standard issue pistol until 85 I think...
I think you're right. The 92F that replaced it was a step in the wrong direction.
