Day 3:

Used the Victorinox ratchet to snug up some annoyingly hard to reach screws on the storm door.

Day 3
It's my day off, so not doing anything.
Since someone seemed to like how chunky the spud was here is another shot of it, in its drawer, with the impact sockets.
Tape measure for size, it weighs 23oz/650g, and only has 32teeth/clicks

I used to be a lot of things, and someday will again.
But for now I'm just a lost jack of trades with neither mastery nor home. ~NoaIsumi

Day 3:

This Crescent/GearWrench brand tool is my go-to ratcheting socket wrench set.  It's a pass through set and each of the sockets work for metric and regular.  ('Merica!!!)   The other end of the socket wrench is an adjustable (Crescent) wrench that also works as a pipe wrench.  It's not really small or compact enough for EDC use, but it is very useful.  I think they still sell them at home depot.

Almost 20 years ago, my grandfather died and I inherited most of his tools.  Part of this inheritance was no fewer than 5 sets of sockets.  I was extremely pleased that I was able to fit my Crescent pass through sockets into this very old metal socket wrench box that had previously held a random collections of miss-matched garbage sockets and a broken socket wrench that no longer ratcheted in either direction.

Day 3

The other ratchet that takes hex bit from the same Rubicon set RGH-40.

Suddenly realized the bit extender in red can take both 4mm and 6.35mm hex drive.

What a nice little set! :like:

Not doing anything today. Only tried to remove some rust from those old bits (except the pz2, ph2 and 1/4 sq adaptor). Now they look black after vinegar bath.

DAY 4  Work day, work EDC.  Skeletool and Leatherman ratchet.  I also carry the extension, and one card of bits that covers what I do most: flat, philips, hex, and torx.

If it was $6 at one point, it was before I knew about it. This one cost me $20 at Home Depot.

Powernoodle Day 4

The Leatherman ratchet rides easily in the bottom of the pocket, with the bit nicely hidden in the Wave+ where it cannot get lost.

Ratchet Day 4

I am a bit later than usual because I got distracted watching a youtube video about some very experienced guys dyno testing a supercharged flat head ford motor.  They had to make some adjustments and used a ratchet.

Here is my ratchet of the day, ready to install some screws for wood trim pieces.

Day 4:

Using my craftsman pass through ratchet as I start taking apart the cowl of my tractor.

I’ve got a small diesel leak that seems to be coming from where the fuel lines meet the tank. Have to remove the cowl to get to it.

No real need for the pass through ratchet for this job, but it was what was handy.
