@FarmerX: It's ridiculous how small those floppies were. I'm happy to use newer technology but it's also some nostalgia involved with those things of yesteryear.

Day 12

As you can see from my watch I am late with this post.

Casio A168. Probably the cheapest watch in my collection but also probably one of my favorites. Incredible lightweight and nostalgic.

While I have watch bracelets and bands that cost 5 times as much as this entire watch this one still manages to be comfortable. Doesn’t pull hair or pinch and has a easy to use anywhere adjustment mechanism.

If you are someone who likes to tinker with things, aka everyone here. Do yourself a favor and do NOT look into mods that can be done to this series of watch. Your bank account will not appreciate it.

Used the Backside Technical Screwdriver to adjust the band size.

Day 13

Never posted but this is how I carry the Swisschamp.

Very comfortable and a secure tight fit for the tool. The leather is thinner then I would like but that said it does lend itself to conforming to the body more then the sheaths I normally like more.

It is from a company in Honduras or Nicaragua maybe? Hide and Drink. Not sure I I would recommend just based on long term durability. So far it has held up like a champ to be fair.

This is my go to guy for sheaths though and would recommend 10/10. Is on Etsy and from Texas. Nays Custom Leather. Currently talking him into making a sheath for the XLT.

I'm a big fan of the basic Casios, though I usually swap to a fabric band. That's about as far as my watch modding goes.

Monday 12/15 Mini Challenge: It has WHAT!?

Awl of these giant SAKs have at least one or two weird tools that're mostly unheard of on multitools and, usually, not actually very practical.

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to pick the most obscure tool on your multi and use it by Monday.

Changing the polarizing film is about as far as I'd go...and I'll do that one of these days. Converting the LED backlight to electroluminescent is probably impractical at best.

Per Google Translate, "Hecho en Méduco" is "Made in Mexico." I always thought the Spanish translation of Mexico just aded the accent mark above the E.

I've awlways felt that the mag-glass-driver was an odd choice. I still think it is. Awl that said, the extra reach was a huge help here. The cap lifter driver fit, but was a pain to get into the space.

I don't know if that's smart (a backup and all) or overkill.

Speaking of fish scalers...

Day 14

The Wenger scaler has no ruler (instead putting it on the compass) but it does have a line guide. Wenger never got the parcel hook, but I imagine this could handle some of its duties in a pinch.

Pfft I already used the Straight Pin as a tool to adjust my watch band.

Well it’s snowed four or five times already and we have a good five inches on the ground.

Guess it’s safe to take out the screen and put the window into the storm door.

It's overkill. But I like this strange mod a lot.

It has also many hooks.

Someone had too much unused parts which got used while building that thing.

For most of my life wintertime snow was significant.

For the last 8 years or so it’s been pretty mild but not this year.

Day 15

The TC+ is actually kind of light on weird tools. We would've needed a Toolchest Plus XL Turbo to get all the great weird Wenger tools like the toilet paper key.

The most creative use I could think of was checking what direction my front door faces. As you can see, the answer is south-ish.

Day 16

The Wenger in line Phillips is a bit stubbier than the Vic counterpart, but does have the semi-lock like the flathead. It's paired with the wrench, which I've used a few times in the past, but not this month. I think it's a solid tool, one of the Wenger exclusives that'd be worth bringing over to the Vic line.

:iagree: I think I'd have more use for the Wenger wrench than I would the magnifying glass or the LED.

The mag glass isn't high on my list, but I use it a couple times a year. The flashlight maybe made sense in the 90s when we phone and keychain lights didn't exist/sucked. Now it just means I have to remember to change the batteries in my knife and is a pretty lousy flashlight. One of the few tools I'd go so far to say I avoid if given the choice (eg Cybertool M over Light).

Day 17

I think the file and knife layer is the last front side one I haven't shown yet. I've used both these tools a fair number of times this month (including today) but never snagged an action shot.

Compared to Vic's blades, Wenger's have a smidge more belly. Unlike Vic, who usually include the second blade, Wenger usually gives you a nail file. Wenger awlso kept the clip point secondary blade up until the end for the knives that included one, while Vic swapped it for a second drop point in the 70s.

Not sure which I prefer, and in the end I usually have a small blade and file on my keychain SAK, so it's all redundant. I do think if you're going to do a two blade knife the blades should be different shapes, so point to Wenger there.
