Carrying the Spirit XBS I procured from the MTO Store. I'm not sure how The Boss landed this one without the silly cap crimper, but I am sure grateful to have it, it's an exceptional MT. No, it's not a shelf queen!  :D
Great looking BO Spirit   :like:

 :drool:Love It!
It's one I'm still looking to add to my collection.

My MTO XBS has the crimper and personaly I have found the cap crimper to be a handy feature.  I have never used it for cap crimping, but it has come in handy when dealing with certain hex water line fittings and hex nuts that are just a little to big for the pliars.  I've also found it useful for helping to position aluminum pilot gas lines and copper refrigeration lines with out distorting them out of round.

Some good uses Douglas, I remember a long time ago using spring benders for tubing?  I hope you find one for your collection!  :tu:

Awesome.  The beauty of the XBS makes it seem like it should be a shelf queen, but it just so nice to use.

I confess I did not know there were ones out there without the cap crimper.

It is nice to use, and the black finish seems to be very durable. Yes all the XBS' seem to have cap crimpers, I think mine may have actually been a mistake, I have never seen one like it. I hope there are others out there, but I don't know.  Vic made a black Spirit S without the crimper, but it has 2 blades and no scissors.

edit: There is a thread about this somewhere a couple years ago, I'm looking for it...

edit: Here >> https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,75011.0.html << It looks like floppy got the info from Vic that there are "a few" out there.

Spirit XC today.  :salute:

Interesting modified sheepsfoot blade. Has the advantage of full spine to the end, but no actual tip to the blade. There’s a decent awl on the Spirit if you need to pierce or score something.

Where most partially serrated MT blades have the serrations at the back, this has the serrations on the front and the plain edge on the last third.

Unlike some other MT designs, when open, the blade edge is inline with the bottom handle, so you can get the edge down onto a flat surface.

There’s also a small guard on the tang behind the choil. Not enough to stop you finger sliding forward, but a little reminder that it gets sharp after that bump.

Everything packed tightly into the Spirit. For its size, it must have the highest tool density of any MT. But not great if you get it full of grit or bend a tool.

Quite a contrast to the Multi-Plier I’ve been carrying the last couple weeks.

It not a mod - that’s the standard factory blade!  :tu:

(...it’s not a standard sheepsfoot, as it’s not flat on the edge).

But it is a cool blade...

I've enjoyed using the Spirit for the last month.
The only times I used another MT was the Surge because I needed a torx bit to remove a scooter hand grip.
And the BlackTip which dealt with all the messy beach fishing jobs.

Got a new Asus PCE-AC88 PCIe Wireless card in last week, upgrading from an extinct Draft N band WLAN card. Used the Spirit X to remove the old PCIe WiFi card and install this fantastic one, followed with a Wenger S557 wrench to tighten the antenna couplers.
