I noticed the folder is a lock back. Nice! And the brass-lined lanyard hole is one of those "going the extra mile" efforts on the part of the manufacturer.

Dug the old Spartan from my car as I felt like I wanted to play with a SAK a bit. Earlier today I had the Curl with me on a small walk.

Used the Spartan already to tighten a few screws and it was on stanby as I checked a baby cart wheel for a flat. Luckily there was no hole. It was just a user error when inflating by a schrade valve in a tight spot as I managed to deflate it at the same time.

Had some camo scales earlier but I eventually swapped them to my (bushcraft) Huntsman. Not my favourite scales on this right now. Playing with the idea of making scales some day

I like the blue with the Finnish griffon myself.  I started in to make some wood scales for a Spartan two weeks ago.  Got out the wood and tools.  Heated up the knife in hot water to loosen the scales.  Tried to pry them off.  No go.  Someone had already tinkered with the knife before me.  I could see that.  I could have broken them off but decided to not mess with them anymore.  For now, anyway.  They are superglued on, I think.  Maybe epoxy.  The scales look good now as they are.  Best wishes.  Gary

Quess the epoxy is a good solution to attach the scales but it may be also a permanent :D What wood you used by the way?

I have used epoxy on SAK scales before.  Just a dab on the posts will hold very well.  I did that with a Climber a month ago or so.  Turned out nice and sturdy too.
With wood I don't know any other way than to glue them on.  A press fit would be hard to make, and likely would loosen as the wood expands and contracts with humidity, etc.  I had some pretty mahogany lying around.  A little soft, but I thought why not?  I also have some rosewood.  Really hard to saw.  I thought about using some really fine plywood to make a set of scales and then paint them with fluorescent yellow.  Maybe this winter when summer chores are finished.
There are some adhesives that would be less permanent than epoxy.  Might be a better way.  If you lived in the US, I would trade you something for the see through blue.  Best wishes.  Gary

This morning my MT got used a bit differently. I found myself in a downhill bike accident on asphalt. I did get damaged some but this old wave and sheath on my belt probably saved my hip from some road rash. Looks like the asphalt shined up the button some as well as roughing up the edges of the leather more than it already was.

Hope you are ok. Bike accidents can be nasty.

Two years ago I did the same thing on a trail as I fell over the handlebars on a rock. Rebar on belt sheath and the leather got some damage but has been in use still to this day. Haven't really thought about it but it might have saved my hip skin also. Almost broke my wrist and got a frozen shoulder for 1,5 years after that.

Remember folks to always wear a helmet and a MT on a belt sheath when doing extreme activities!

Yeah, my rib is bruised and I snapped my clavicle in half and some roadrash. Luckily no nerve damage and most of all I'm thankful I didn't have a kid riding on the back at the time!
anyways, I'm not working on much and I'm wearing clothes that are as easy as possible to get on and off with one arm in use. I've fallen back to my ultra light EDC wallet setup which is still very capable. At is widest it is only 15mm thick as well.

Slept on my office chair for the first week when I did mine. Getting up and down on a bed wasn't happening.
Hope you heal up quick.

Ahh hope you a fast recovery. Seems pretty painful.

I like your wallet/toolkit setup, may have to try out a setup like yours! I always have some plasters too nearby. Have been carrying at least one on the back of my phone bumper cover for several years as I've found out that it's easier that way than to search one from any pocket with a bleeding finger. Less mess. I recommend "extra strong construction plasters". Have to check out the package what it says.

Btw haha that Classic SD driver adapter. Played with that myself too. Not sure still if it can handle anything over size 1 philips :D

Todays carry is a bit mixed. Have thought about having a SAK at home and LM outside and Im testing how I like different options. So Im playing with the two I've got: Spartan and Huntsman. Have a small Skinth on my home shorts hip that has a flashlight, pen and room for a SAK.

Sweet looking red combo Echotech. Wish they manufactured Juices still. Im thinking if Leatherman is having some plans for this size tools as their lineup seems to be missing that. And the market does not have that many options either. SOG Powerpint and Gerber Clutch come in mind.

Thanks Pilot :tu:

I’m a huge fan of the Juice line, had a CS4 (my favourite of them all) for about 20 years now. I prefer the older incarnation to the newer but both are good

I’ve been contemplating a Powerpint, people seem to like them apart from the scissors but haven’t pulled the pin on one yet…we’ll see

Interesting setup, very compact and custom tailored, it is always nice to see your setups.  :hatsoff:

I wish you a quick recovery from your injuries.

Carrying Juice B2 and Micra in a Skinth with Led Lenser P3 and a Pokka pen.

Also took out my Curl to fix a clogged fridge outlet water hose and install batteries to a baby toy. Happened to use the awl to dig some jam out of the fridge hose, flathead to push a tab down to get the evaporation plate out and knife to cut paracord that was used as a device to clean the hose from inside.

It's interesting whats happening here. Carrying "clean" and lightweight tools: meal prep type of blades (Juice B2) and scissors (Micra) in a lightweight setup and using a full size LM today instead.

Sometimes you just have to take out different tools for a spesific job and one day doesn't tell whats needed for the next day. So Im continuing testing with this lightweight Skinth setup as Im really liking this compared to having stuff in my pockets. A full size LM has been the basis of my EDC for years but often I want something lighter to carry at home. Im wearing loose and comfortable home shorts all the time :D

First of all thanks for all the well wishes fellas!

Great combos all around. Same as yesterday for me.

I'm a huge fan of the Juice lineup! I am also a fan of the Powerpint but it somehow feels like a large mini tool and the juice feels like a mini full sized tool... I feel like I should like the Powerpint even more but in practice I lean toward a Juice most of the time. I would still say to get a Powerpint though! With a little bit of modding it gets even better!

@Pilot That's a cool light weight setup and yeah, sometimes you just need something more for for a specific job. One can't be prepared for everything, so it is always a compromise. How much are you willing to lug around vs. how much utility do you think you'll need/want immediately on hand all in the context of your personal environment.

You commented on the bit adapter on the Classic SD in my light carry. I definitely would not try to torque down a bigger screw with it but it is especially good when you need to hold a small nut on one end (Style PS) and tighten a screw on the other, like for example a bicycle mirror.

When I really need a bit more torque with this setup, my Gerber Curve steps in (here's a recycled pic).

That's true that often the more you want to prepare the more you have to carry. It would be nice to just be MacQywer. With a humble SAK and a paper clip (talk about minimal edc) everything would be done fast and efficient!

Nice to know you have had some good experiences with that Classic SD and LM adapter! Haven't thought about that scenario but yeah sometimes there is the need to hold one end while turning the other. Thats fun to do with only one tool :D

I think last time I had this scenario I jammed my knife blade tip sideways into a hex hole to hold it still. Im often really more of an ape with a rock with my tools... :D

Have to say I like how you use the gear you have. Like the photo of that shift lever fix and your other setups that seem to work together great. That's inspiring!
