I picked up a Leatherman Micra in like new condition for $1.  All I had was a $10 to pay.  I had decided to leave the toolbox, because I don't need another toolbox and it didn't appear to be worth $20.  They offered to sell me the toolbox and the Micra for $10, so I  brought it home.  My $10 estate sale buy includes: Snap-On, Craftsman, Proto, Boker, Nichols, Williams, S-K, and others.

Aw, man! I hate this thread! 'round here, the second-hand-worn-out-awlmost-unusable tools are awlmost as expensive as the new ones. 'cause they're "antiques".

I find most of my tools at estate sales and occassionally at yard/garage sales.  I envy those people in areas with  flea markets and boot sales.

I went back to the estste sale today.  I planned to buy the splitting wedges top left of the photo at half price.  Instead I got everything you see for $5.

The blade is pulled back and also very dull and rusty.  It has a chip on the mouth I missed, but it should be a decent user once cleaned.

I figured, I was just goofing, it’s been a rough week, let alone today yet we’re on #7 of the “Friday the 13” movies..

All good buddy.  You have more stamina than me.  I couldn't make it through one of the 13th movies.

A bag full of inexpensive picks at a local estate sale.  Xcelite, Craftsman Yankee ratcheting drill/screwdriver, Red Devil scrapers, Stanley Handyman egg beater drill, and Bluebird battery pliers. Plus oil, engine cleaner, leather protector, staples and blades.

Another school of thought is that it's better to risk blunting the blade than risk cutting your hand on a plane that has been left on its side.

A few weeks back I bought this Reed MFG No. 2A pipe threader.  I'm a sucker for old tools in their original wooden boxes.
