Not a whole SAK, but I now have two pairs of black 74 mm scales on order for my Exec and two pairs of red plus scales as well.  One pair will go on my old Swiss Champ which has a broken end on one scale.

I'll be ordering some pin stock and grommets from Rotokid this week, and cracking open an old CT34 my wife gave me to harvest the CT layer to transplant into my Compact.

The mod addiction is almost as bad as SAK collecting.

No doubt!  I haven't even started, and I find myself constantly thinking of different tool combos that might be nice to have!

You were my inspiration though, for a Cyber Compact!   :salute:

I like the Electro Mechanic. :salute:

After a long day of frustrating work at a couple Best Buys, I popped into a Gander Mountain just before they closed and picked up a Wenger Apprentice.

Got this off Ebay for $8. I thought it must be a mod. I can steal the 84mm scissors from it. I don't think it is a mod.

:ahhh

It's a Voyageur, a great model, you got very lucky on that one. Those cost WAY more.

Got an excuse to show this great bargain again :D

I'm thinking of trading with someone for one - Anyone got a ballpark figure of what it should be worth in excellent condition? (not sure on colour but it is a ribbed one).

A very nice used Victorinox Safari Trooper was in my mailbox this morning...

I will be using this knife for some heavy duty chores. So he got a ride on the Sharpmaker.

He is now sharp as a razor and ready to go to work.

This is my first 108mm Victorinox knife and I must say that I am very impressed with how sturdy this knife feels!

This knife came from an eBay auction and was listed as used. The knife is like brand new and I am very happy with it. For $26 delivered I feel like I got a real deal. It will be used in my daily rotation as a true workhorse. I got it because of its saw and its simplicity. Now to put some pants on him :D

Cool, can you go and buy it for me and I'll pay you back? :D

I'm not entirely joking here.... I would be very interested in having a proxy bidder on that one!

Yes. And he's up to 83 retractions in the last 30 days! Why does eBay permit this guy to keep abusing the process like that? I have noticed that he has been placing a low first bid on a lot of knives and then laying in the weeds. I generally stay away from any auction that has his footprint in it.

A Top Condition Silver one with combo might fetch $200, maybe slightly less for the cap-lifter/screwdriver version.  Red could fetch $300+ in top condition.

As you know the next day you might get them for a lot less, and condition affects the price quite significantly.  If I remember right there was a pretty good silver one that sold on ebay about a week ago for less than $100, I think it was closer to $50.

Just got this Wenger EvoWood11. First impression is that this wood is not pretty enough to justify the premium price. However, I guess it will darken as it picks up the oil from my skin.

Also, I should have known, but I didn't realize I'd be giving up the T and T as well.

I figured this would be worth a shot, since I liked my old Tinkers so much. We'll see how it grows on me.

I bought a very expensive box.  The most I've ever paid for cardboard I believe.  Oh it came with a solid Victoria/ARMEE SUISSE era knife that is solid as a rock, but in this case I bought it for the box (:ahhh), now they will likely pop up like all over the place. I didn't want to take that chance though.

I will say, I think I have a few times, when you feel the old Cellidor handles you realize that they were an excellent choice at the time they feel nothing like the cheap plastic handles we get today.  Mainly because they are slim, solid, and tougher.

I wonder if anyone here got the other beauty that was sold at the same time.

Lets take it apart and bring it back to life. I haven't much luck with reusing the old scales though. Does it come with a shackle?

Interesting find you got there.
Not sure if I were going to invest much money for a box (speak for myself, of course)

Bottom is (I beleive) model n. 1 49 11 (Eu market)/ Journeyman US market (plain blade)

Looks exactly like the one that ended last week on the bay for $361.  :o
So yes that's one expensive piece of cardboard for sure.
Although the knife looked quite nice in the photo.
Was it a vintage Spartan ?
I could not believe the boxed Huntsman went for $510.
So glad I don't collect those.
