Ok here is something completely different.

Stock Vic alox scales, hard anodized red liners, Vic blade, combo tool and phillips, with Wenger pliers and universal wrench.

It seems like a crazy combo but it all fit just right.  The Wenger pliers rest just right on the custom spring rest I have in my custom springs.  I did have to cut a nail nick in the pliers to allow them to be opened, but that thankfully went smoothly too.  So I'm quite pleased! :D

Beautiful work, Robert. Replace the pliers with scissors and I might possibly order my first custom.
Be Prepared.

If its 91mm: pre 86 for sure (half stop). If the phillips is round then probably a 82-85 model. If the Phillips is squared off then need more pictures to date better, but its a 73-83 model. Things like tang stamps and scale inlay can help date better within that range.

All scales prior to 2001 or so are going to feel more solid. As for it being an Eco model - it's possible, but I can't think of any Eco models with Phillips off the top of my head until they went to the nylon scales in the 90s.

Probably should have mentioned that it's a 91mm. I kind of wish it were an 84, though!

Here are some (too big and terrible quality) photos of various details:

Phillips is rounded, so sounds like 82-85. Older than me!

Thanks for the info!

I recently acquired this NIB Victorinox Camper advertising knife. An hour or so with some fine wet n dry
and polishing compound had the logo removed and the scales restored to pristine condition. This model has no key ring and the colour is a very dark blue, much darker than the standard Vic blue which is shown for comparison.

I love that color.

Very cool!

That was a commission job, so it's already gone.  I dont have access to a supply of those wenger wrenches, but I'd sure love more.  :D

Haha!  I was hoping. Still planning another commission job for you. LOVE my special brass minicamp. Have had lots of compliments. The one thing I didn't count on was keeping it free from finger prints. Still working that one out. (Thinking 10K gold scales would solve my problem...) ;-). The whole just gets deeper and deeper.

This is cool. I never noticed the different shade of blue on those Festool knives. Time to add one to my "all scale variations ever produced" collection :)

Edit: I just bought two of them just to be sure :ahhh

Oh it's very nice :tu:  Very well oiled, that's for sure.  I do like the translucent ruby scales too.  It looks to be pretty much the same thickness as my Yeochamp, but I'll compare them tonight.  It's neat that every layer has a backspring tool.  Blades are razor sharp (as usual) and everything looks great.  This is my first SAK with a saw, as I was normally against saws on SAKs.  Curiosity got the best of me though ::)  I rarely use a saw actually, but I will have to give it a try on a branch just to see how it does.  I do have a pesky tree that's way too close to my home, and in between my propane tank and oil barrel, so that's probably a safety hazard during thunderstorms :ahhh  Can't use the Ranger's saw for that though, but I can certainly saw up some branches once it's down ;)

I'm glad you like it!  And I can vouch for the saw; it cuts like a champ and retains its razor sharp teeth.  The file is super too, while not ideal for fingernails, it works great on metal.  :D

Yup :D  True though, I don't think I've heard anything but positive remarks on SAK saws.  I like that file too (which I also have on my Yeochamp) and you're right, it's not great for nails.  I've tried it, and it does work, but it's fairly rough, and then I need an actual nailfile to finish the job.

Nice one u99 :tu:

I should also add in reference to my new Ranger, that since it is the only SAK I have with a saw, it would pair up nicely with my PST/PSTII as neither have a saw :tu:

Haven't seen Rahmed in a couple of months now. I miss seeing his mods.

That 93mm Voyageur looks very 8) . Is that a sharpened combo tool like on the old bottle openers?

I think it is a Grand Prix with the square Phillips and no keyring or hook.
He has had a hard life. Rusty, all bent up and missing his tweezers etc.
