I thought it was a good find.  I paid $10 for it.

the main blade opened with no problems, everything else was "break a finger nail" tight.

I spend an hour cleaning it up and oiling it/working it.   seems pretty good now.

here is a picture

(Image removed from quote.)

thanks to everyone who helped identify a time frame for it.
That's a nice Champion you have there. Great cleanup job  :tu:

thanks sawman,  every tool is nice and snappy now.

I am super happy with my purchase.

the funny part is I paid $10 for this Champion,  a few tables later, a guy tried to sell me Tinker for $35!

I do find the double layer for the saw and fish scaler an oddity.

also I am so use to my cap lifter/flat screw driver locking at 90 degrees, it is odd for this one not to.  the long 3D phillips does, but the flat doesn't.  seems odd.

If I can help, let me know

looks like i have a 4 loop fluted cork screw, based on info here http://victorinox.saam007.com/91mmtools.php I can drop the date range down to 1983-1985

that is a nice small window.  I like knowing the time frame as close as I can.

not 100% sure, but I do not think my fish scaler is magnetic,  if that is true (meaning it did not loose its magnetic pull over time) and the  info on the above page is correct, then I can lock this down to a 1985 knife.

If I can help, let me know

What are the odds that StumbleUpon would take me to a video of this exact knife (other than advertising Mercedes) that I just got today!?!

anyway, this is the exact knife.

I think I am liking this knife more and more.   :climber:

I've been putting the last of my 84s together as I'm not taking anymore 84mm mod orders.  I had some white scales from my last cerakote run that I wanted to use with BO tools, but I dont have black liners for that size only stock and brass.  I figured it might look decent with brass so I gave it a go on a cadet II.

That's a really great knife, the brass looks good, maybe not quite as good as black with the while scales.  The brass would look super with black scales.  Still I have to love the black and white.  Shoot me an email if no one is looking at this one.

BUT... what do you mean you're not taking any more 84mm mod orders... I've not even warmed up yet.  I need some Cadet IIs.    :(

Well I hope you get lucky.  I so wish there were flea markets around here.

Me too!¡! We have one that has nothing but junk  so I quit looking years ago

I hate hearing that your out of the 84mm game. So what's next? I've seen your 58mm stuff and it's

I can still do work on them, but I don't buy cadets anymore to anodize and stock.  Ive got a dozen or so left though so I can still build a few fancy ones.

I was using those old springs from pre-hook 91mm scissor layers to put scissors on cadets, and I burned through most of those.  So to continue, Id have to make up springs for those and I dont want to commit to 250 springs for something that doesn't get ordered to often.

I can put just about any tool on a 93 so they are much more appealing to me, and durable.  Ive never been a fan of the thin 84mm scales, they lack the meat to make the pivots secure on wider multilayer mods.

Gorgeous, aren't they? I got one, the other week. I did try to put up a pic, but tripe-a-squawk fubarred it, somewhat.

Lovely colour and the Danish blacks are nice, too. Enjoy!

Yes, they are lovely to look at and very tactile. I`ve already got a black/silver shield Cadet and am tempted to get the black/red shield but I already have some other incoming units and I`m going to have to slow down. Yeah, right. :D
