The one sidewalk was like 4” of sludge, like applesauce.
That's a good analogy. Slushy snow is the worst to shovel!

These have been U/A for ages in the UK (AFAIK) and at a fiver each I didn't want to miss out  :ahhh

Does anyone have any experience with these on Alox SAK's & LM etc (didn't want to stir a long lost thread )

I think multiple users here have used them for Leatherman (e.g. Rebar) clips, but Alow seems a bit iffier, the stippling/texture and the engraving area would significantly reduce how much the clip was actually adhering to

This was my concern, hence asking if anyone has experience of these  :dunno: (still they're paid for now  ::))

I guess it's a wait and see sort of thing

A Kershaw Culpepper I ordered this evening.  I should have it within 10 days.  This is a large, single blade Barlow with a G10 handle.  https://kershaw.kaiusa.com/culpepper.html

A Surge.  :multi:  :ahhh
I had one once but I sold it because I didnt have uses to it and found it too bulky to carry around.
Now that Im building my house all by myself I can justify having one. Also I found a much cheaper seller than earlier.
Also my Skeletool just didnt prove to have enough horsepower to be a condtruction carry. Not so surprisingly.

The Kershaw slippies seem like great value, they not long ago released a more premium USA mode model for folks that prefer that kind of thing  :tu:

Finally, I've got something new on the way.
Ordered me a SOG PowerPint and a large Cattleman's Jack, from Marbles.

I used them on a Rough Ryder Classic Carbon Series Folding Hunter pattern. They started to slip after a couple of months, and I used a piece of thick 3M double-stick mounting tape I bought from an auto parts store. Not given me a problem since.

I really like plain-edge sheepsfoot blades. Lots of cutting power, a strong tip, and they are safe enough to use in situations where you don't want to accidentally poke a hole in someone or something. Straight edge ones aren't offered often in one-hand opening. Most of what's still available is usually upper-scale in price.

I noticed Smith's had one, the Edgework Wharncliffe (which it is NOT); but for a company whose knife line isn't great (their main line is sharpening stuff) and the steel mystery metal of unknown heat treat (just listed as 400 Series); the $30 MSRP was ridiculous. Amazon had it on sale for $12, so I sprung for it at that price.

It's a framelock, which means it will be heftier than needed.

The SwissTool MXBS will likely knock the mighty Surge off its high horse for me.

I would pay $12 for that knife. Currently, it is $20.77 at Amazon. Just a bit more than I want to pay. I'll have to keep watch on it.

I had, but forgot about it. Going to pick up one quite soon. D2 is definitely more suitable for hard use than "mystery 400 whatever"

I have the XC, and it's been serving me really well. It's also much tougher than I thought it would be for a mid-size offering.

I concur completely; best of all, at least for me is, that because of the "butter blade" it is not frowned upon as my other tools are when seen.  :iagree: :like:
