Cool Wenger Hobo, ColoSwiss.  When do you figure it was made?

ICFT is the lucky owner, not me.  That's about the third or fourth I've seen; pretty rare.  It's so different from anything else Wenger has done that I wonder if they actually made it, or if it was made for them by some other company. It's marked 'Abercromby & Fitch'; when were they importing Wengers?

Posted this over in a Picnic sets thread but it should get some well deserved time here in the Wenger thread too. This appears to be some issued kit to soldiers. It is an interlocking spoon and fork with Wengerinox and "58" on he back of the spoon handle.

I'm guessing they did not sell all of the ones they made, and they just put new scales on some, rather than making an addtional run.  Maybe Wenger can confirm, it would be great to know.

I think the same and will try to get the information.

You are more than welcome to edit the pages on sakwiki. You are more than qualified and very knowledgeable in SAKs and I'm sure Francis would welcome a bit of help especially on the Wenger pages. There are lots of pages that still need to be written and we can't expect Francis to do all the work. It's not that hard to make a page or edit it and there are also templates to make the job easier. :salute:

EDIT: I see you've been quite busy helping out already. :D Very nice. I as a Wenger fan appreciate it a lot.
Thanks, but most of my knowledge (which is very limited to only what I really like to collect) came from reading other member messages here.
Francis is basically my "wiki mentor" and was so kind to explain me how the software (which is not all that user friendly) works.
Still, I did only made very small edits.

I was discussing with Francis about how to implement the wiki with the Tactile models, 811 and 812.
Now, while searching a found a link to an old EDC Source auction closed back in 2010.
Here is a link
http://www.edcsource.com/auction_details.php?name=Drop%20Point%20%20Swiss%20Auction&auction_id=105158
Now look closely at the third picture
The catalog page (with a very similar design to the 1992-1995 one), shows a third (65mm size) knife in the Tactile line, with a catalog 1.81.11.813 and with (I suppose) red neoprene scales.
The knife name could be Tactile 813.
Any idea?
Does anybody know the EDC seller? Perhaps he still has the catalog picture in a bigger size.

Wenger Tactile 813 (with standard red Esquire). The Tactile has a matte red neoprene handle. Tried to take an indoor shot, but the color didn't really show properly.

Catalog number is: 1.81.11.813. Sold by Swissknife (Heidi Shop) for 19.80 SF / $15.84. Don't have a date.

+1  58 might not represent the year, but if it does that would make if very interesting.

I was pretty close.... :D
I made a visit  to a local shop today, and the 2005 dealer's catalog (which I sadly don't own) shows all the three Tactiles.
The shop owner is going to make a copy of this page for me.
Will post when available.

Hello,
today I found a Evo 63 Blackout SoftTouch in a local shop.

Is (or was) this model really exclusive to the Australian market?
http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Entree
The shop owner told me he had three (this was the last one) and that he came across them way before the Blackout models (with EvoGrip scales) were available.

And this is an additional find, for quite a good price (approximately € 30/knife).
"The Life" set Vallotton-Saugy.
The set was unfortunately missing all the certificates.
With the help of a very kind forum member, I was able to create some very nice facsimiles to put in the box.

I've only owned one; a Nomad. I found it well made and liked the locking blade, but I could never really warm up to it. I gifted it on a mission trip to one of our translators. I'm sure its getting much mord use now thank would have given it.

Any info about this knife?
It's a commander with metal scales with print similar to the ones from the serie "The Life". It's also numbered.

Nice! Never seen that one before.  :tu:

Comparing it with the ones in the 'Life' series, the level of detail (trees, grass, etc.) appears slightly less and its not signed by the artist. Some other artist?

Looks really nice.  I think it might have been a little test, a precursor to the series.

Lots of good new stuff.

1st Wenger Dynasty series knife I have in its luxury box. This knife is new old stock I guess. It has some old oil here and there but the case is not stained with it inside. This is the Ivanhoe model.

Dynasty Question; the last 3 Merlins that have appeared on ebay all had hot-stamped silvered emblems, but the one SM5K showed here and uploaded to SAKwiki appears to have a white printed emblem.  Does anyone have any information on this, or confirmation?  I have one of the hot-stamped ones, I will photograph as soon as i can.

I think this is confusion that being brought by Wenger themselves, for example I saw knives that supposed to be King Arthurs, but they had tools set which is completely the same as Lancelot (King Arthur must have wrench). Also some guy here posted Galahad with stag engraved on the bottom, which was never mentioned in any of Wenger's catalog. Probably you were dealing with cheaper model of Merlin, or with specific model for a different market area.

Stressmaster, where did you get this baby? I'm checking ebay all the time to catch knives from Dynasty Series but the only luck i've catched 2 days ago is Lancelot in perfect (near mint) condition, but without (!!) box. Recently missed Galahad for just $20 (!), hate myself for this. It was in not that good condition though. But dissapoint still remains  :-\

As you said I too check eBay frequently. This one seems to have been missed by most although I did not get it cheap. It is hard to find NIB items that do not attract tons of collector interest. I am posting a blog post about it with more photos for tomorrow so check it sometime Monday.

This? It has the same blade configuration as the Galahad, but to the best of my knowledge in not part of the Dynasty series. The logo looks like the one for Hartford Insurance. The Britannia has the same blades as the Gawain.

There is a fancy version of the Lancelot that shows up in catalogs (right). There is also a fancy version of the King Arthur (left) that was reportedly a special run for Sharper Image.

I have a blue version of the Gawain, and ICFT has a red version of one of the models.

Never have managed to pick up a Merlin, so can't comment on that.

I check ebay everyday, can't realize how I could miss it. If it's not too much of secret - how much did you get it for?
