I got tired of the boring plastic band on my timex, so now I have a nice orange band. I also got bored and made the bracelet.

Two more 4 foot dog leads. These two are off tomorrow to K9 LEO's. It'll be nice to see how well the paracord holds up in use.

I have a couple of para-cord leads for my K9 and nothing is stronger. The only problem I've encountered and the reason I primarily use leather is that all sorts of stickers and burrs attach themselves to the para-cord during a track through the woods where they don't ordinarily stick to leather leads. With that said, they are far more attractive than leather leads and are still very popular with handlers around here.

How about one made like paracord but with small leather lines instead?
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

Should work fine. Also Ray Allen and other K9 supply houses are now marketing some "super" material on their leads that is supposed to repel goatheads and stickers. Frankly, I'm not convinced that can be done and will tell you that I destroy about 1 uniform a month on a yearly average.
I use para-cord leads when I'm doing demo's in front of people but when we're actually tracking I use leather.

Ash - I'm glad my leads make your leads happy   :D

Come on girl, you know you can make something if you want to. How about doing a 4 cord braid with 4 off 4 cord braids?  Go on, it's something I've been thinking about for a while but not got round to making.

BTW the above leads came about after seeing a tow rope on the back of a 4WD off roader. The rope was made in simialr way. We were driving down the road when I saw it and the idea just popped into my head - dog lead!! mind you, It took a few goes to get the details right.

Here's a video tutorial for tying a Gaucho knot, shown tied with paracord.  I've used these knots for making beads for lanyards/fobs, but as with other Turk's head knot variations, you can tie them on/around all kinds of things...

Hey Steve, paclite aka "Gary" and I are both former Marines and he was one of my police academy students, then we worked together on the streets. It's been a pleasure introducing him to this site and guys like yourself. I'm on my way over to see him now and for those of you here who don't make your own paracord items and may want some just yell at Gary and between he and I we'll get them made and make sure we can reduce any shipping costs or problems. I don't think there's anything he can't make with regard to paracord and I was telling him about you the other night and your kydex creations, so he may be getting in contact with you about some stuff.
Thanks again for the warm welcome for my friend, this site and it's people are exactly what I told him it would be. Also the tomahawk in his avatar is one that I need to get with you about to have a kydex sheath made. Take care my friend,
Stew and Ajo...

Indeed! I as well thank you and all the Veterans past present. The job would still get done without thanks, but it is amazing how powerful and uplifting that one word and sentence can be! I am beyond interested in obtaining some custom kydex, and look forward to getting some information from you on the matter.

No I'm not former military although I wish and dreamed I would have been. Made a few mistakes 20+ years ago and it still hangs over my head :(. But I look on to the future and learn from my mistakes and carry on. I'll see if I can round up a few more pics if I still have them no prob. :)

I don't think you have to wear a uniform to serve your country. Saying thanks is a sincere form of service in itself, as is desire to have been in the military. You still get all my respect.

The same goes for myself. I have all the respect in the world for an individual that will tell me they didn't want to join at that time, or they had other plans first. Stew, along with anyone else who served in the Corps will tell you that on a daily basis we hear excuses, not reasons. Dont beat yourself up Sir. As Stew also said, supporting your troops in todays time is a full time service in itself.  :salute:

As I stated earlier, beautiful work. More importantly, Thank you for your service and sacrifice. I'm a Desert Storm Marine and we got the homecoming that you and your brethren deserved. Men like yourself set the example for guys like me to serve. Thank you again, Semper Fidelis and Go Air Force!
