Ok anyone know anything on these? My neighbor invited us over to his house and we walked through and I saw one and he was like oh this here and just handed it to me, take it, it yours, I didn’t like the colors on it since it was cheap plastic so I kinda painted it, but the other day some lady in the neighborhood listed one up on our free page and I jumped at it, we couldn’t get to it so I had to wait until today and well, we picked it up on our walk, now I think the thermometer is broke cause it was outside on her porch and it’s like 52° out and well this is saying 105° as far as the other part I know nothing about, but it also looks like it’s adjustable? Yet this one is wood, I remember my grandfather used to have a beautiful solid wood one with three dials, thus why I was always interested in them,,

Well, I saw a set screw on the back of the barometer, so I looked up what the pressure was and I moved the needle to match, so what about the mercury? It was probably because the lady just had it laying flat for so long and not upright, so I figured I’d do it old school, I unmounted it and then shook the crap out of it for like 5min, and I got it from 105° to 78° yet it’s gone down another 2° since then, so I guess we’ll just have to see if it changes?

I just got a Leatherman Crater C33TX w/black oxide finish and not happy with the finish. It got all over my hands when I first opened it up. It makes the screwdrivers harder to open as well. It's going right back to Leatherman.  :facepalm:

I could be wrong, but I believe finish rubbing off is common for black oxide.

Opinels, 111mm SAKs, and weather instrumentation...great stuff, y'awl!

I did a deal with a friend on another forum. In addition to the Schrade 4x4 and Wenger Backpacker II I purchased, he threw in the Ridge Runner hobo knife as a bonus.

I'm hoping you get yours soon! I do actually don't like pocket clips but this one works good, so far my only problem is that I want the clip in the other end but I guess it's a getting used to thing

Just picked up a free very nice golf bag! I currently have one but it’s like a mini that I use for my hiking staffs, but this one’s nice, the dividers are nicely padded so they won’t scratch the staffs! The only thing wrong was one of the pockets are ripped, so I’ll probably end up cutting them off anyway,, but here’s a pic along with my current one,m

My father died on Friday morning.
In his drawer he always kept that Cretan knife, inscribed "1965", and a spring assisted Spanish knife of a tourist type from the sixties. He also had my grandfather's pocket clock, a Pierce from the thirties, and his own, a golden Caravelle from the eighties (not shown), both bought from the US during immigration.

We got a new addition to the family,, the Mrs has had an eye on him for a few weeks and well it’s Mother’s Day, and well, she got him, he’s young so we have to keep him in another cage for a few weeks,, and since he’s so small, we were thinking for names and the one kid was like you got Tubbs, so why not cubs?
